It was raining. Now, logic would dictate that it had rain sometimes, even in the summer. actually, especially in the summer, since the heat evapourated the large bodies of water that caused rain. But it had to rain before she'd even reached Petal Town. The problem was an easy one to solve, and although she had gotten a little wet, it allowed her time to think while she waited out the ever growing rainfall. All she had to do was find a few large sticks, two since there was a handy tree nearby, stick them in the ground and rope the plastic sheet her mother had strangely provided for her over the two sticks and onto the tree. Unfortunately she'd forgotten to angle it, and there was a mini waterfall falling in front of her feet. She was going to get muddy.
Last was laying in her lap, the Grass pokemon happily dozing as he looked out over the falling rain. As promised, her father had sent over Togi, and the little girl was clinging to Karla's leg as she peered with curiosity at Last. The two weren't the best of friends, and Togi was more inclined to hide from the new creature. Not only that, but Todd was making her more and more worried.
The second pokemon her father had sent over had been a rather big supprise. One of the pokemon unique to Airore, and a shiny at that. His green and browny cream coat was definately different in her current party. Not only that, but he was beginning to be a bit of a pain. He constantly ran up to Togi, and growled when he thought they were in the way, but didn't mind getting in the way himself. The animal ran around while she was trying to get things done, and her original idea of making sure that each night the whole team was out together was looking like a nightmare.
Behind her, hopefully warmer then her feet, and not wet, was her bag. Full to the brim with items, and more then that. Two eggs rested wrapped in spare jumpers and a scarf and hat, each one seperately wrapped, but resting next to each other. She'd certainly had to mix things around to fit them both in. The most annoying things was that items were no longer in the right areas in some cases. But, she was still excited about them. After all, she had no idea when they'd hatch or what they'd be.
The girl sighed slightly, hand resting on Togi's head as she tried to relax. Sleep was almost out of the question, since she'd squish the eggs behind her if she relaxed too much; which you did during sleep. She didn't even bother to look out into the rain when the Cavia began to growl, the small creature's entire body tensing as his ruff rose.

It was coincidential that Karla would be thinking about her eggs, for at that very moment, it seemed there were signs of life coming from one of them, the oldest. The egg formed a very faint crack, which grew in size and depth, until it formed a small circle around it. The jagged circle was popped out as a small black face took it's place, staring out at the world. Yellow eyes stared, wide in amazement, from the black skin, and the Pokémon gasped in wonder at it's first sighting of the outside world. Slowly crawling out, he stared about in wonder.
With the exact appearance of a bush, a black face and little tree-stump like feet, this was without question a Bushabi. The newborn Pokémon looked around for it's mother. It's mouth wavered, and it appeared to be about to cry, before it saw Last. It's face lit up and it toddled carefully towards the Bulbasaur, trying to snuggle up to him. It though Last was it's father. Aw, how cute.
Karla's egg hatched! She obtained a Bushabi from it!
Meanwhile, a Pokémon was dancing. She loved to dance. She was good at it, too. The Wooper splashed about in puddles, tapping her feet, leaping around. A huge smile was on her face and she laughed out loud when she span or did some other extravigant move. The Wooper danced her way to Karla, then stopped, looking at the trainer. Perhaps this trainer wanted a battle. Wooper cocked her head to one side. She growled at Karla. And Todd the Cavia.

Karla's eyes drooped as she was lulled into a tired state. The pounding of the rain onto the canvas over her head was soothing, and although the puddle was getting larger, it did seem to be running away from her. Todd was standing guard, which left her slightly more at peace. If only he would stop growling though...From her lap, Last looked with half closed eyes at Topi, who had Karla's hand resting gently on her head. The poor Togepi was still unsure of what she was supposed to do, what to make of this new creature - new creatures - her mistress has gathered. Last was happy enough as long as he was with Karla. Todd just liked seeing new things.
Topi squeaked slightly as she noticed somthing, shuffling along Karla's leg to peer behind her with on...arm? Hand? With a Togepi it was hard to tell, but whatever appendage was where her arms were, it was held to her mouth. Something was moving...Karla shifted, groaning slightly as she blinked and twisted to see what was in her bag. It was either the eggs, hatching or close to hatch, which was less logical then the second option because they had shown no sign before now, or a stray pokemon trying to get into her bag and steal something. On the other hand, she hoped it was the former.
At the sight of the Bushabi, in all it's bushy glory, sliding from the bag only to stae around made her stare in return. A Bushabi...Which left her with two grass pokemon in her party, and less pokemon to deal with fire pokemon especially. It left her at somewhat of a disadvantage, but not too much of one. She had a normal type, so she was sort of safe. So, having another Grass pokemon was not a bad thing. It would certainly give her an advantage in a Water Gym. But she was perhaps not so thrilled when it decided to clamber into her lap to snuggle up to Last. Neither was Last, to be honest. But he gave the new pokemon a good sniff, and let him do as he wished.
But Todd, oh the inquisitive creature he was, was more interested in what was coming closer, then what was already here. His growl grew higher as he shuffled backwards slightly, head lowered and ruff as high as it could get. The creature was upset over something, and the growling coming back showed exactly what it was. Karla glanced up, a small fown on her face at the Cavia's louder growling, but soon relaxed when she saw the Whopper. A water pokemon. She frowned. Todd was a normal type, so there were no super effects or anything in store for her. But he was also not super effective to the Whooper.
"Todd..." she murmered, a slight crease marking her concentration as she watched the Cavia slowly crawl his way towards his opponent. She needed to think, and the Cavia obviously didn't care, he only wanted to fight whatever had challenged him. She didn't want another pokemon in her party so quickly, and she only had one space in her party left. So far she had two grass, two normal and a single egg. Who knew what was coming out of that. While a different type would be nice to add something different to the team, especially considering the weakness for fire half her party had, the water might be nice. But she didn't want something thrust at her so quickly. She wouldn't be able to just leave the thing on it's own if Todd won either though.
Todd growled and charged, giving Karla no more time to think as he ran towards the Whooper. Karla sighed, gently pushing the two cuddling grass pokemon from her lap and onto the ground as she moved towards the edge of her canvas. "Todd! Use sand attack followed up with a quick attack!" The Cavia complied, turning to scratch up the ground as he neared the Whooper and running on the spot while facing away from her to send it flying towards her in a muddy attack while he sped forwards and around to try and come at her from the side. Hopefully, it would work.

At that moment, when Karla's attension had turned to the battle, the other egg decided to gain a huge split down the middle. Even from outside the bag, the crack was very much audible. However, at this bad timing, it was likely that Karla wouldn't be able to investigate; what with holding a Bulbasaur, Bushabi and battling at the same time. No, the Pokémon needed to fight it's own way out, and it knew it. Clawing against the soft material was no use. However, there seemed to be a strange closed opening at the top.
After a minute or so of fumbling, the Pokémon had undone Karla's bag's zip from inside. Smart. It tumbled over her shoulders. The Pokémon seemed to be a Drifloon. It's crossed mouth twisted into a smile as it saw it's knew trainer, and it was clear that this was no ordinary Drifloon. By the way the light sparkled as it hit the Pokémon's golden skin, this was a shiny.
Shiny Drifloon hatched from Karla's other egg!
Meanwhile, Wooper wasn't really paying attension to what his Cavia opponent was doing. She didn't even notice that Todd was attacking; the Sand Attack missed her, giving her no chance to realize that he was going in for a Quick Attack. She was watching the newly hatched Pokémon. Drifloon was really cute! The Water type signed in happiness, which turned into a cry of pain as she felt a Cavia make contact with her from the side. She staggered with the force, but managed to stay on her feet. Quick to act, she spent little time preparing before a Water Gun was powerfully shooting right at Todd.
