First Training

[Kairi]

Kairi came in to train with Poochi. She wanted her to evolve into a Mightyena. Then she nickname her Mighty. "So, ready for a little training Poochi?" She asked her,"Pooo," Poochi repiled happily. "Ok who should I have you fight," Kairi started thinking. It needed to be a hard battle to win, as Poochi was at level 16 and needed to go two levels to evolve at level 18,"Hey! This will be a great fight. Wanna fight this Ninetales, Poochi?" Poochi looked scared. The Ninetales was so much bigger then her,"Oh come on Poochi! Just cause a Pokemon's bigger doesn't mean it's stronger. You can take that Ninetales. I believe in you," Kairi grinned rubbing Poochi on her head. She nodded. They went up to the counter,"I'd like my Poochyena, Poochi here to battle Ninetales." Kairi said.

"Ok," the lady at the counter says. She leads Kairi to the battle field. It is a fire type field. "Wow!" Kairi says looking impressed. The Ninetales walks up to them with a trainer on the other side. This would be the person to give Ninetales orders in battle. "Are you ready?" He asked Kairi.

"Yea," Kairi said getting Poochi ready to fight. The guy, John laughed when he saw the small Poochyena walk out onto the battle field,"That's the Pokemon your using!" He laughed,"Your Poochyena doesn't stand a chance against Ninetales here."

Poochi backed away in fear,"It's ok, Poochi. Don't let this guy get to you. Remember what I told you. Bigger isn't always better," Kairi reminded her Pokemon. Poochi nooded, jumping back onto the battle field and growling at the Ninetales,"Oh well. It's your lost," John sighed.

The battle then begin,"Poochi use Howl!" Kairi called. "Yow!" Poochi howled raising her own attack power. "Ninetales use Ember," John told it. "Nine!" Ninetales screamed shooting Ember out at Poochi. "Dodge it!" Kairi screamed. Poochi tried to jump out of the way but was hit with Ember,"Poochi!" Kairi screamed as she watched her Pokemon take the hit.

Poochi fell to the ground,"Ha! What did I tell you. The battle's over already. I told you, your Poochyena wouldn't stand a chance," John laughed at her. "Come on Poochi! Get up!" Kairi called,"I know you can do this. That guy and his Ninetales are just pushovers," Kairi informed Poochi. She got back onto her feet.

The battle then continued,"Use Howl again Poochi!" Kairi called. Poochi howled again raising her attack even more. "Hit it with Ember again!" John called out. "I don't think so! Sand Attack!" Kairi called out. Poochi kicked sand up at Ninetales blinding the fox and getting sand in it's eyes.

Ninetales screamed painfully trying to get the sand out of it's eyes. "Howl again!" Kairi yelled. Poochi howled raising her attack even more. She then felt something going though her body. It was strength. She now felt that she really could beat this Ninetales, if she tried. Poochi growled at Ninetales, this determined look in her eyes.

"Quickly use Confuse Ray!" John told Ninetales. The Ninetales released the Confuse Ray but missed because of the Sand Attack that Poochi had used on it earlier. "Ok Poochi show that Ninetales we mean business! Go and use Bite attack!" Kairi called out. Poochi nodded and ran at Ninetales.

"Ember!" John called out. Ninetales shot Ember at Poochi. She dodged the attack. John told Ninetales to try again. But the attack missed again. Ninetales kept on shooting Ember at Poochi who kept on dodging around the attack,"That's it Poochi!" Kairi called.

Ninetales was getting pretty tried right about now. It was panting very hard. But while it had let it's guard down Poochi had jumped up and grabbed one of it's nine tails in her mouth and had bit down hard with Bite. Ninetales screamed painfully. Oh no! It seemed like Kairi had made a mistake, you never EVER mess with a Ninetales, tails. Otherwise you will be cursed.

"Ha! You shouldn't have done that. If you don't tell your Poochyena there to let go, my Ninetales here will lay a curse on her," John warned Kairi. "Oh geez!" Kairi said rolling her eyes at how stupid this guy was for believing in something that dumb,"That curse isn't real! It's just a legend told to scar little kids."

"Or is it? I don't think I'd take my chances if I were you," John warned Kairi, as Ninetales was running around in a circle trying to shake Poochi off. "Nah! Poochi will be ok, as curses aren't real! Keep your bite down hard and don't let go Poochi!" Kairi called out to her.

"Ninetales shake that Poochyena off with your Ember attack!" John told his Pokemon. That was a mistake. Nintales shot Ember and burned itself. "No! Nintales!" John screamed. "Now! Bite it on the head!" Kairi called out. Poochi nodded and flipped up in the air like a ninja and landed on Nintales head bitting down hard.

Ninetales screamed painfully running around not listening to it's master when he told it to use Confuse Ray, to confuse Poochi, so she'd let go. Ninetales wasn't watching what it was doing and ran into the wall bashing it's head very hard. Ninetales couldn't take the pain anymore and fainted.

"Yey!" Kairi cheered. She had won the battle. "No!" John groaned in defeat. He recalled Ninetales,"That was a great battle. I was wrong about your Poochyena. Your Pokemon's strong. I'm sure after this fight it will evolve into a wonderful Mightyena," John grinned at her. "Thanks!" Kairi said. The two of them then shook hands after a great fight. Kairi then waited to see if Poochi would evolve or not.

Poochi began to glow, the levels she had earned taking effect. The light began to build until it was blinding. Their was something like a soundless explosion, and then the light cleared. Where Poochi had been standing was now a Mightyena.
