• Name:[/color]
Kiku Ushito
• Age:
11
• Pokemorph:
Yes, Umbreon
• Appearance:[/..Small,darkand mysterious../]
Kiku is a female umbreon Pokemorph. She is naturally short, standing at about 4'6, needless to say she is proud of her short stature. She is very lean and skinny, often called a 'stick,' even though she is known for eating more than a fully grown man. Her hair is medium in length, ending near the center of her back. It is long, straight and pitch black. It is rather hard to tell, but there are faded white highlights in her hair, but can only be seen in bright sunlight. She recently added light blue high lights to her hair, which add a bit of 'Pzazz' to her hair, or so she thinks. her bangs fall in a cascading fashion. From the middle of her forehead, she has very short bangs that, almost don't seem to be there, but looking to the left, or to the right of her face, they steadily grow in length. By the time the bangs reach her ears, they fall just in the middle of her ears, and curve slightly inward to frame her face. Her eyes, are like bright red orbs. At first, they seem to be rather frightening, but upon closer inspection, they burn with joy and excitement. Kind eyes is what her mother calls in. Her face always seem to be pale and fair, like the rest of the skin on her body.
Now for the Umbreon features: Upon the top of her head, is a pair of ears. They are furry and black, blending in with her hair. They stand up straight, most of the time, and seem to be rather stiff. Near the top, bright yellow rings circle the ears. Near the bottom of her back, is a short black tail. It is exactly the same as her ears, with the furry black fur, and glowing yellow ring. On the very top of both of her lower arms, a yellow circles, similar to the yellow rings on her ears and tail. They glow just as often as the others. On sides of her lower legs are the same glowing yellow rings. Besides the fact that she lacks fur on her body, she has most of the features that an Umbreon would have.
For Clothing: Though Kiku has a bright and happy personality, the way she dresses can be rather dark. On her torso, she wears a pure black blouse. The sleeves are short and down reach much farther than her shoulders. Also, the sleeves are somewhat puffy. The shirt collar falls in a 'V-neck' fashion. Around the center of the blouse is a small, almost unseen black ribbon, which she ties in a near knot. The ribbon on the shirt also matches a bow that she often wears in her hair, around her left Umbreon ear. Her pants are also black. They are long, denim like jeans with a bell-bottom flare. A belt is secured tightly in the belt loops, and is surprisingly a yellow belt, instead of a black one. Her shoes are black tennis shoes, with white and bright laces.
• Personality:[/..Childish,Naiveand Ambitious../]
Even at the age of eleven, Kiku still acts as though she is a child. Even though she will be a Teenager, and eventually a young adult, she has made a vow to herself to never grow up... Yes, it is an unrealistic dream, but, in all reality she does not mean to 'Never age' but more personality wise. She will always act like a kid, regardless what others say. This also makes her rather naive. She is easy to trust others, and believe the most unbelieve of things, then again in Airore is seems like the most extreme can happen, maybe she is right to be gullible and ready to believe.
She is rather awkward when it comes to speaking with others. She is one to 'speak before she thinks.' Often, rather stupid or hurried comments and replies come out of her mouth, followed by a slap on the forehead or mouth. It can get a few laughs out of the person she is speaking with, but makes her feel completely humiliated. She doesn't take humiliation well, and will generally assume a 'Fetal position' with her reddening face hidden. She tried as best she can to be friendly and open, but her insecurities do show very often. Acting 'real' in front of others is hard for her. Many would call her awkwardly shy, but she says that it's just a never ending nervousness- denying any and all shyness claims.
She gets along very well with Pokemon. Though she can't properly communicate with them, despite her Pokemorph appearance, she feels a strong mental connection with them. With every pokemon she encounters, she tries to get close to them, and build a strong trust. Even the most difficult and rash pokemon she has met she tries to overcome. She believes that if she ever hopes to become a master pokemon trainer that first she must learn to connect with every personality of pokemon there is.
Kiku is also very ambitious. She is shooting for the stars and won't take anything less. She aspires to be a great pokemon trainer, beat all the gym leaders, beat the elite four and encounter every pokemon there is in the Airore region. To make sure these come true, she remains dedicated and committed to her goals. If an opportunity opens up to get closer to reaching her goal, she will take it in a heartbeat. Even though she is still so young, she believes that starting a number of goals now will only assure her chance at succeeding.
• History:[/..Lost,Foundand Gone../]
No one is quite sure where Kiku came from, or what she really is... How she came to be with her Foster mother is somewhat of a cliched story, but regardless, it is her story.
It was a cold, and raining night in Airore. A young women, around the age of twenty-two stood in the kitchen, radio on and music played it's gentle melody. Her hand held a ladle that she slowly swirled in a pot of golden stew. She was happy, healthy, but sad to say very lonely. Since moving away from her mother and father, her live had been secluded to solitude. What to do with her life, she didn't know. Settle down and marry...? Maybe. Starting a family would be nice. But all the complications and obstacles that could hold her back from more... What was she to do?
Suddenly, there came a knock, loud and pounding. Startled at first, she dropped the ladle into the stew, and rushed to the door. She raised her hand to open it, but stopped at cry. The sound of fleeing footsteps followed. She waited... Waited for the footsteps to fade, and so they did. Opening the door slightly, she looked out, turning her eyes down to spot a small black blanket, tied around a crying bundle. Her heart soared... It was a baby... She picked up the small baby, and lowered the blanket of it's face... But, this was an odd baby... Ears, a tail and markings... Like an Umbreon...? The women was baffled, but took the baby inside to save her from the cold.
She set the baby on the couch, and noticed a white slip tucked in the blanket. She pulled it out, and unfolded the slip. A letter from the parent...Dear Miss Ushito,
I have seen you for a while now, in the town, and wandering the city. I would like to give this child to you. I can not care for her. I fear if I do keep her, she will only suffer. I know you are a delicate and kind woman miss Ushito, and very lonely at that. So please, be there for her when I cannot. Her name is Izzy, but please, give her a more suiting name. Teach her the ways of the pokemon, and the ways of the human. Do not think of her as a monster, and accept her for who she is.
I am forever in your debt.
Sincerely,
-------
The signature was smeared out, and the bottom of the paper tore, obviously from the rain. She folded the paper, and placed it gently in her lap. Looking over at the small Pokemorph, she thought of the name.
"Izzy..?" She mumbled. " Seems kinda strange Hmm? Well, how about Kiku...? Kiku Ushito. Yes, that has a very nice ring to it. I believe that will be your new name, Kiku..."
And so, the young women accepted the small Pokemorph baby into her life, vowing to take care of her forever.
------
Kiku grew up quickly, Miss Ushio proving to be a kind mother after all. When Kiku was turned six, her mother adopted an Umbreon, which had been abandoned by it's trainer a few days earlier. Miss Ushito felt that having an Umbreon around young Kiku could help her bond with pokemon, as well as her other half. They called the Umbreon Umbi. Kiku was very fond of Umbi and played with the Umbreon everyday. She took excellent care of the umbreon, and they grew as close as siblings. Often, Miss Ushito would joke around and say that Umbi was Kiku's long long sibling, and Kiku would always agree.
When Kiku turned eight, she showed an interest in training pokemon. She would often visit the pokemon lab to see the trainers receive their starter pokemon and head out on their journeys, and she knew that someday, she would also head out on a journey.
When Kiku was ten and a half, Umbi fell ill and died. Kiku was heart broken, and grieved for days, weeks and even months. On her eleventh birthday, she did not want to leave her room, but her mother consoled her out. They had a small celebration, cake, ice cream and presents... And Miss Ushito told young Kiku that it was time for her to start her journey. She wanted Kiku to go out, see the world, and meet as many Pokemon she could, assuring her that if Umbi was still around, Umbi would want her to go as well. Kiku thought about it for a moment, and something inside her began to glow. Courage and readiness. She couldn't mourn forever, even if it did pain her. So, she decided it was time to start her own chapter in the book of life... Her own adventure.
