Prickly leaves stuck to the thin clothing that Dante, the oddball Trainer, wore casually in any weather. Nothing was torn, or shredded, which helped an insane amount. It was, without a doubt, a morning here in this unknown area. The houses in Kanto were much different than what this place had to offer. Not just the houses, either! Even a few people looked drammatically different from the Kanto counterparts. An odd, furry creature walking out in broad daylight with a Turtwig was quite odd, no?
Brushing through the thicket of foilage, Dante saw what could only be described as a lab. Labs were stocked with Professors and a place to stay for a bit and this lab shined brightly. Hypothetically, of course, because no Pokemon Lab ever really shined like a twinkling star, but this place held a walking furbag, so what did then teen know about anything? Nothing, I tell you!
In fact, it was hard to keep himself under control. He felt like going nuttier than ever, but his mother's quote kept him under stress. That reminded him of his father, which in turn reminded him of his Gym Badges! Glancing on the inside of his shirt, one would find six, heart stopping badges from the toughest of all of the Gym Leaders. Well, that's what the rumors all say. The Indigo League stands at the top of the charts for thoughness and a lot of good quality Trainers from other Regions have met their match while traveling.
No time to stop now, seeing as how the lab was so close to him. He made his way over a few boulders, the beanie and its respective pin still slapped across the hem. As the baffled teen made his way to the front doors of the lab, his mind raced endlessley. The most of these worries came from how well his Pokemon were doing. They're independent enough to stick together for awhile, but if he stayed here for more than a year, they would meet their fates at the hands of Team Rocket.
No. He didn't care about the doors being closed, he walked right in, throwing good manners into the wind. "Um... Hey! Is this Region's Professor in here? I need to speak to whoever it is, if you don't mind!" Dante didn't see anyone, but the place sure was spiffy. He had only been in the Lab once and it made his day. Prof. Oak had actually been outside when he spotted Dante, seeming to scan his existence to find his worth.
That reminded him... While he was here, he would need to get a Pokemon. Who knows how harsh those roads and forests could be? He surely didn't.

Professor A.B. rose from behind her desk, where she had been rummaging around looking for a specific paper. "Oh, hello there!" She smiled sheepishly, running a hand over her red hair. The boy hadn't knocked, but no worries! The professor readjusted her coat, then stepped out from behind her desk. "Sorry, I just seemed to have misplaced something in the mess of papers on my desk, and under it as well, luckily, it's not too important, so I'll be okay!" The Professor realized that the boy in front of her probably didn't care one way or another about a paper she had lost. "So, " She said, ignoring the heat that rushed to her cheeks at the blathering,
"You must be here for a pokemon!" Professor Apple Blossom nodded, sticking her hands into the pocket of her white laboratory coat. "Do you have a pokemon in mind already, or would you like to hear what types of pokemon you have, before you make a request?" She smiled warmly before she realized she'd forgotten to say something important. "Oh! I'm sorry. I'm Professor Apple Blossom, by the way, this Region's professor, if you haven't already realized that." She sheepishly ran a hand over her mess of hair. I can't believe I forgot to introduce myself!

Dante watched as Apple Blossom pretty much stood there and talked, added by an occasional combing with her hand. She seemed a lot younger than Oak, but she seemed intelligent, which eased his disbelief. It was true; He didn’t believe that this woman could be a professor. She just seemed a bit too “Out-there” to be considered one. Not just that, but he even had to look down at her to converse. Then again, looks don’t tell anything. She could be the smartest person in the world, for all he knew.
”Nice to meet you. Name’s Dante.” The teen shoved his left hand into his pocket, seeing as he wasn’t using it at the moment. While he was here… He should ask about the Region he was stuck in. ”Do you have a Pokemon in mind already, or would you like to hear what types of Pokemon you have, before you make a request?" Weren’t there only three starters in Kanto?… That list seemed like a pretty good idea.
”Um… About that list! Do you mind if I take a look at that before making my choice?” The teen rubbed the back of his neck, sighing in a low tone. Dante only knew 150 types of Pokemon and he knew that there were other Regions, but were there really that many Pokemon in the World? ”Say… Where am I, anyways and how far is this place from the Kanto Region?” Other than that, Dante didn’t have any other questions on his mind. He would let the woman do her thing and whatnot.
If he was lucky, they would have Kanto starters and he could finally choose which Pokemon he wanted. Wasn’t his favorite Charmander? Depended on what it looked like.

"Dante, I'm pleased to meet you." She nodded her head lightly in greeting.
”Um… About that list! Do you mind if I take a look at that before making my choice?”
Professor Apple Blossom turned and went to her desk, reaching into a pile of papers confidently and pulling a piece of paper from it. The paper was pale beige, and covered in text and small pictures. "Here's the list,"She smiled as she turned back and handed the paper to the boy in front of her. "There are pictures on there as well, and if you want me to bring out any pokemon for you to meet and greet, I'll be happy to!"
When Dante asked Airore's location in reltaion to the Kanto Region, the Professor chuckled lightly. "Oh, so I'm guessing you're from Kanto? They only have three starters, am I correct? In Airore, we have many, including ones from the Sinnoh, Johto, and Hoenn Regions of the world!"
Her eyes sparkled lightly, pride in their selection of starters making her face light up. "But back to your question, Dante, I believe we are located somewhat south and east of the Sinnoh Region, which is, in fact, very southeast of the Kanto Region." She smiled warmly. "Luckily, though, I believe many of the 496-plus pokemon in the world can be found in Airore, if not all of them!"

The teen gladly took the list, scanning over the many Pokemon he had never even seen before. ”A… Chikorita? What the heck is that? Turtwig I familiar, but…” A troubled look spread across Dante’s face, using his left hand to scratch his scalp. He spotted the Starter he wanted, his confusion turning into normality. Then, just when he wanted to smile, he heard Apple talking about the Region distance.
V-Very Southwest? Oh, how downright awful that was. Such a distance to traverse through. If he got a Pokemon that knew Fly, or Surf then he could easily reach Sinnoh. From there, he would take his time. Well, he couldn’t let it bother him too much. He was finally away from his father, but the feeling of him watching loomed overhead like a dreary cloud.
To the outside world, he would seem like he was in his own little universe, due to his thinking. He quickly snapped out of it, his face flushing with red embarrassment. ”About that Pokemon… Do you have any Charmanders? It’ll be a good one to have until I return to Kanto.” Any Trainer willing to go against him with Charmander better watch out! Even though he never had one like this before, it’s going to become a hardened powerhouse by the time he gets through this place.
That reminded him of the badges again… They used to be the highlight of his day, but now they’re just sitting there… collecting dust. He opened his shirt and looked at them, sighing as he buttoned it back. There had to be Gyms here. They’re the only ways I can actually test my strength as a Trainer.”

"Charmanders?" The Professor nodded energetically. "Let me go bring a few out for you to meet." She turned, long coat billowing out behind her, and walked down the hallway. In no time, she came back, with four pokemon walking along behind her.
"This is a female Charmander, and she's shiny, as you can see." The Professor motioned to the first pokemon.
The Charmander nearest her was female, with pale orange scales that seemed to sparkle. She seemed very intent on her own looks, running a hand over her arms and legs to smooth and shine them. After she had finished primping, the shiny Charmander walked up to Dante, a sweet smile on her face.
The Professor giggled at the first pokemons's behavior. "She's a bit vain, you see. Very proud of herself. Confident, as well!" The woman motioned to the next pokemon. "This one is male. He's very quiet."
The next Charmander had a regular-colored hide, the intense orange that the starters usually exhibited. He was humming to himself happily, and his tail swished from side to side as he sat down. A large white tooth showed, overlapping his bottom jaw even when his mouth was closed. He simply watched his surroundings, green eyes darting to observe everything around him.
"And- well, this is another Charmander, and his companion Chikorita, who didn't want to be left behind."
The last Charmander was in a heated tussle with a grass pokemon, a male Chikorita who seemed to be losing the play fight. The Charmander tackled his friend, rolling them over multiple times. When they finally stopped, the Charmander was sitting on the fallen grass pokemon's side. He smiled smugly, and looked at his claws nonchalantly, as if it was obvious that he would've won the battle. This pokemon was also obviously larger than his companions.
Professor Apple Blossom smiled. "He's very aggressive, and loves to fight. Otherwise, he seems to be a good tactician, as well, not the type to charge in without thinking about the situation thoroughly." She nodded sagely, then turned back to Dante.
"We have a few more Charmander if none of these look like partner material."

Dante gave a light smile to the group of Charmanders, kneeling down to meet their gazes. They all were filled to the brim with potential, something he could see in a lot of the Pokemon around him. He especially liked the larger one, but he would have to leave the companion behind, which would probably result in sorrow on both sides. He knew how it felt, being taken away from friends to be put through tough training. He could relate to that Charmander, but he didn't want it to feel what he did.
Taking another look around, he finally caught glimpse of the Shiny female, petting it on the head. Not exactly what he was looking for, but if no other choices remained... At that moment, the quiet one caught his immediate attention. He looked very content with this area, his tail swaying like a pendulum. Which one to choose? They all were qualified partners, but he knew one was the maximum.
A sigh slipped from his mouth as the teen placed his mind on the aggressive Charmander. "I love them all and I'm sure I would enjoy meeting the others... But the larger one seems like a great pick." He had just the plan to make both seperated Pokemon happy. It was actually quite simple; If Prof. Apple Blossom allowed it, he could come back here to let the big guy play with the Chikorita. Maybe then, he could even meet the others that were in storage.
"Yeah. My decision stand. The larger Charmander is my pick." Regret for this action swelled in his heart, almost making him rechoose, but he couldn't let it sway him into another option. It had to be this Charmander. He could show it off to his father when he got back home and defeat Blaine without a doubt. Dante's face returned to normal as he straightened himself out, glancing over at Apple.
Tactical advantage balanced out with pure strength and aggressiveness: The perfect combination.

Professor Apple Blossom grinned. "Alright, now let me get you the things you need to start your journey!" She turned and went behind her desk, rummaging under it. Soon, she came up holding a pack, filled with supplies, most likely. She slung it over her shoulder and turned to the wall behind her desk, which had numerous shelves with boxes of pokeballs. Professor A.B. seemed to know where everything was, though, as she grabbed a pokeball with absolute confidence, and strode back over to Dante. "Here's what you'll need to start your journey. The Charmander's pokeball," She turned to the large Charmander, who had walked over to her, and smiled. "Charmander, return!" A flash of bright light caught the pokemon and took him into the ball. Still grinning, the Professor gave the device to Dante. "There you go."The Chikorita looked distraught at the sudden disappearance of his friend. Professor A.B. frowned at the sad pokemon, but shook her head and looked back to the boy in front of her. "You'll also be needing your starter pack, which is filled with lots of handy supplies!" She handed the pack to Dante as well. "I do hope that if you see any interesting pokemon, you'll come to tell me about it!." She chuckled. "Or even, come back to let this little guy," The Professor motioned to the Chikorita. "See his old friend!"

Happily, Dante took both the bag and the Pokeball, nodding as he did. "Trust me. I'll visit often." So, the journey started now. He liked the sound of that much more than "You shall begin your training." He glanced at the Chikorita near Apple Blossom, kneeling down toward it. He reached to pet it, sporting a smile to reassure it. "I'll be back, little guy. Just you wait."
Well, that was all he really needed to do here. He was off to the next area, wherever it was. He hoisted himself up, allowing himself to stand over A.B.'s head, and then turned away, walking off. The sun was starting to become brighter, a sign for a new horizon: A new dream. That was his purpose here. He was going to prove that his father's idea of a "Perfect Trainer" was flawed beyond belief. It was his sole duty in Airore.
He believed in them; Arcanine, Fearow, Poliwrath, Scyther, Beedrill and Primape. They could hold out until he returned, wherever they were. He would search for them until he wasn't physically able too. Before running towards his new goal, he turned to the Professor, smiling. "Thank you. You don't know how much you've helped me. Take care, Professor." With that, the teen was off, his normal lifestyle returning as his first few steps were taken.
He didn't once look back to see if anyone waved, but he knew, somewhere in his mind, that they would all be here when he returned. "When my Charmander and I return... They'll be there waiting."
