Hakira had been carrying her timid little Cyndaquil all throughout town, but now that she had reached the first route, it was probably a good idea to let the poor thing down.
"Suppose I should letcha walk fer a bit, now that we're in a clear area an' I don't have to worry none 'bout you gettin' stepped on," she grinned. "Ain't never trusted crowded places too much, y'know?"
Cyndaquil seemed to be at a loss, most likely because her trainer's accent was, well... It wasn't city-talk, that's for sure. Sensing her discomfort, Hakira continued.
"'Course, if'n ya get tired y'all can rest on my shoulder if ya like, or go to yer pokeball for a rest. Dun make a lick o' difference ta me."
Moving right along, Hakira drew a Net Ball from the confines of her bag, then enlarged it and gave it a toss. A blast of white light shot forth, revealing the other Pokemon she had already, and one of the main factors in her decision to go with Cyndaquil and not Piplup. There, floating above the ground, was a lovely female Finneon, who looked for all the world like she was still contentedly breathing underwater. Hakira seen a special on TV about this once (some show called Pokemon Stadium or somesuch), and though she couldn't recall exactly how it worked, she remembered the basics. There was something about Capture Balls that allowed water Pokemon to exist outside their natural habitat. They moved, breathed, and battled as though they were still underwater themselves. Technology was a remarkable thing.
"Missy Cyndaquil, I'd like ya ta meet yer partner in crime- Victoria! She's the family's pet fish. I'm, er, borrowin' her fer my journey."
Vicky, as it were, seemed to be positively bursting with energy. She zoomed this way and dashed that, hovering around as she inspected her new, fiery teammate. Once she was done invading the poor thing's personal space, she swam contentedly back over to Hakira, giving a vigorous nod of approval.
"Well lookit that, she likes ya already!" she laughed, "Now, Vicky here has a name, so that means I gotta give you one, too," she began as she turned to walk down the path, both Pokemon partners falling in "step" alongside her, "I was thinkin' somethin' cool, like," she paused, her voice taking on a proper British tinge, "Anastacia, but then I realized that wuz a bit too big fer me. So I shortened it ta Anya. Ya like it?"
