Skyler strutted along Route 1, the light breeze he felt making a smile dance across his face. His blue hair moved lightly, more from the electric energy of his walk than the wind. His gloved hands were in his pockets, and the magician whistled a happy tune to himself, mind doing some sort of high-class tango as he sorted ideas about in his head.
What should I teach Carmen first? Making cards disappear? Random items? People!? Other Pokemon?! The speed of his thoughts multiplied into a skittish foxtrot.
"Carmen, Carmen!" The name so nice, he had to say it twice. Skyler looked down to see his Lovely Assistant smiling up at him, eyes twinkling. She seemed to love it when he said her name.
"Babe, we're going to find some Pokemon to battle, gotta work on our moves, righty?" He grinned and she beamed back. "Hmhm, let's see how Coppahfield feels about that." Skyler pronounced his Magnemite, Copperfield's, name quite interestingly. With a flourish of his hand and a delighted squeal from the Totodile next to him (she loved when he made items appear), Skyler had a Pokeball in his hand.
"C'mon out, buddy!" The blue-headed teen brushed his blond bang away and threw the ball into the air. With a flash of bright light, a Magnemite appeared and floated down to him, looking content. Skyler caught the now-empty Pokeball expertly, and put it back into his pocket. Carmen held out a hand to the Magnemite, even though he had no appendages to shake it. The Pokemon turned a magnet-arm towards the water Pokemon, and gave her a jovial shock!
Carmen jumped back, rubbing her hand and smiling sweetly, but mumbling to herself. <Huh. A shock. What else should I have expected? Silly floating orb . . .> The Magnemite bobbed about her, examining the croc from all sides. He then floated to Skyler, wordlessly orbiting the teen.

In the tall grass nearby, two pokemon were playing. Their game, whatever it was, sounded rough as they emitted soft squeals, accompanied by thumps and whalops. The sounds drew closer and closer until a Phanpy and Aron rolled across the path. The little blue elephant spotted Skyler and his pokemon first. He shoved the Aron off him and assumed an agressive stance, growling defiantly at Skyler. The Aron bounced forward like a loyal little toady, copying her friend's every move.
~Look Aron, another cocky human and his pets. The Phanpy snarled, flicking his trunk scornfully at Carmen and Copperfield. ~Out for a little walk, servant scum?~ The Aron didn't respond as Phanpy launched the insult at Skyler's pokemon, her little body tensed for battle.

Skyler saw the aggressive Phanpy come from the grass, and smirked a bit. Looks like a battle! He swept a hand through his hair, and watched as the Pokemon seemed to insult his two partners.
Hearing the Ground Pokemon in front of her, Carmen broke out giggling. She laughed, and laughed, for a good few seconds, almost to the point of tears streaming down her face. After she had stopped, she exhaled, a smile pulled across her maw. <Servant Scum?> She snorted incredulously, placing her hands on her hips in a defiant manner. With another chuckle, she gave the Phanpy a look.
<Is that really the best you could do? I mean, did it take you like, a week to think that up? Way to go, Mr. Brains. I'll bow down to your ultimate intellectual power, now, if you don' mind.>
Obviously, Carmen had been taking a few arguing traits from Skyler. Sarcasm and a good laugh in the face of a threat. She shook her head wistfully, scales shimmering.
<If you want a battle, hun, you could just ask for one!> With that phrase, the reptile inhaled deeply, feeling the water building up. She winked at the Phanpy (like a good assistant would), then blew a Water Gun at the pachyderm.
Copperfield had completely disregarded the Phanpy's insults, but seeing a battle commence, he looked over at his opponent. An Aron. Oh, what fun. And thanks to his ability, the Steel-type Pokemon wouldn't get away anyways. Copperfield rolled his eye, floating backwards, before charging at the Aron in a full-speed Tackle.
Skyler grinned, even without understanding, he knew that Carmen had just thrown a few sassy words at the Phanpy. "Battle time, my assistants! Let's make this first show great!"

The Phanpy just glared at Carmen until her water gun hit him square in the face. The little blue ground type tried to duck out of the way, a hint of fear and surprise creeping into his eyes. He hadn't guessed that this Totodile would know any water type moves- his weakness. Most of the pokemon and trainers who came along this route were fresh from the lab, tender newbies without any experience. The Phanpy calculated his odds, more wary now as he rolled into a Defense Curl and jumped into a Tackle attack. Even if he wasn't the smartest pokemon, the little guy was fast.
Aron laughed at Carmen's sarcasm before she realized that it was an insult directed at her friend. The laugh choked off into a snarl as she lept up to meet Copperfield's Tackle with a Headbutt of her own.

Carmen was fast as well, but hadn't started moving at the right time. She jumped, but was clipped by the attack anyway, and sent rolling awkwardly across the ground. Quick as a whip, however, the girlie was back up on her feet.
"Go, give him a Leer, then Water Gun!" Skyler smiled at how enthusiastic she was.
Carmen giggled earnestly, giving the Phanpy a girlish wink, before her flirty demeanor melted away completely. It turned into a hard stare, unblinking, intense, and worst of all, ridiculously sudden. But there she was, back to normal again! Hoping to catch the little elephant off guard, Carmen jumped into the air, and shot down a barrage of H2o.
Meanwhile, Copperfield was absorbed in a scuffle of his own. The Magnemite shut a steely eyelid as he collided with the Aron, and was thrown back by the opposing Pokemon's Headbutt. Copperfield fell, swooping down close to the ground, but never actually touching it. He rose back up, feeling the momentum from his fall, and blinked contentedly.
"Metal Sound, Coppah! Then go with a pretty awesome Tackle, again!" Skyler covered his ears with a pair of gloved hands, and Copperfield stopped moving.
A few successive blinks from the Pokemon were the only warning to the attack; a grinding, groaning screech came from the floating ball of steel, and went on for a few seconds before it stopped.
Skyler shook his head, still having heard some of the sound. The grin never left his face, and Copperfield moved in towards the Aron for another Tackle.

Aron more smashed into the ground rather than landing, product of Copperfeild's first tackle attack. Both she and Phapy cringed as the metal sound rang through the air, lowering their special defense. Poor Phanpy was caught in a double bind as Carmen's leer lowered his defense as well. That, combined with the totodile's speed left him very vurnerable for the water gun attack. The little elephant reeled to the side, staggering as the attack took double it's usual toll. He shook his head, and those his legs quivered with the effort Phanpy charged Carmen in a Take Down, grunting and cursing under his breath.
Meanwhile, Aron was still recovering from Copperfeild's second tackle. She shook her head, still trying to clear her ears of the ringing sound. As she swung her little armored head in Carmen's direction, she saw her friend was in a bit of a fix. The ground/steel type dug in her heels and kicked up some of the clay-filled dirt that made up the path, turned muddy by Carmen's water attacks. She launched the Mud Slap with the hopes of helping Phanpy survive, then braced herself for her foe's next attack.

Skyler beamed. That Phanpy was looking pretty tired, man. "Go, go Carmen! Dodge that Take Down!" Carmen watched her opponent, and jumped out of the way of the attack with a smile.
The slightly fatigued look on the Phanpy's face had seemed to give her an extra bit of energy to dodge the offense. She didn't however, see the Mud Slap that was coming right at her. The flung particles his the alligator square in the side, and she fell down, landing on her butt. <OW! You threw mud at me! MUD.>
Carmen brushed her shining scales to a decent look, then glared at the Aron. She didn't even wait for Skyler to say anything, as she launched an angry Water Gun at the steel-type.
Skyler laughed. "Good job, girlie! Let's see if we can catch this'un, though." With a flourish, a twirl of his gloved hand, Skyler was holding a pokeball. One of ten, in fact.
"Comin' at'cha!" The teenage magician threw the pokeball at the pachyderm, and watched to see if the beastie was caught.
Copperfield would have smiled if he had a mouth. Carmen had just set him up for a bit of fun, and he looked towards his trainer, to see if the teen saw the opportunity as well.
A mischeivous glint came to Skyler's eye. Now, now. A very-wet rock Pokemon? I think a little bit of electricity would make this a pretty show! He smirked, and waved his Magnimite on.
"Go on, Coppah. Give that Pokemon a bit of shock!"
Copperfield blinked his eye happily, turning towards the Aron, and releasing a Thundershock in hopes of zapping the soon-to-be wet creature.

Phanpy looked momentarily distraught as Carmen neatly dodged his attack. He didn't have much more time to think before the pokeball hit his flank, and the ground type dissappeared in a flash of light. The pokeball shuddered a little as its occupant tried to break free, then settled as Phanpy became resigned to its fate. Meanwhile, Aron was quite happy with Carmen's out rage. She danced about, mocking the water type. ~Mud in your face, mud in your face.~ She laughed. Her glee was cut short as Skyler's pokemon double teamed her. She was blasted off her feet by the water gun, which normally would have been plenty to panic on. But accompanied with Copperfield's Thundershock, the Aron was doom. She keeled over on the side, her eyes squeezed shut, dropping in a dead faint. Congradulations! You caught a pokemon: #231- Phanpy, M Level: 10 Moves: Odor Sleuth, Tackle, Growl, Defense Curl, Flail, Take Down Carmen gains 2 levels and Copperfeild gains 3 levels!

The teenage magician retrieved the Phanpy's pokeball. Skyler's expression at the moment the Aron fainted could only be likened to the Cheshire Cat. He was grinning from ear to ear, eyes sparkling as he jumped up and down excitedly.
"Nice job guys! You're going to be great in a magic show!!" The teen giggled in a not-at-all masculine way, totally absorbed in his excitement for his Pokemon.
"Ah, but wait!" Skyler said, taking on his magician tone. "I have but yet to catch this merciless beast!" With a wave of his hand, a Pokeball appeared in his grasp, and he threw it at the Aron. "A fine Pokemon to add to our growing menagerie, don't you think?"
Carmen nodded enthusiastically. More team members! And she would totally be the boss of all of them! Copperfield floated idly, a happy look on his face. A few more members in the team would mean he would have to fight less! With another feminine giggle from Skyler, the trio waited for the verdict on Skyler's next attempted catch.

Aron, being fainted, could make no effort to bat the Pokéball away. It easily drew her inside, which, with any capture, was when the struggle began. The Pokéball shook violently, clearly meaning that Aron was putting up quite a fight. But, of course, eventually, the scuffle ended, and the Pokéball fell still with a soft ping. All was quiet on the route once more.
Congrats! You caught an Aron!
#304- Aron, F Level: 10 Moves: Tackle, Harden, Mud-Slap
You may continue on route one or move on.

(Hm, I think I'll continue for a bit more in hopes of dragging my muse back.)
Skyler laughed heartily; another Pokémon added to his group! Oh, he'd have so many assistants soon, it'd be great. He grabbed the Pokéball. The teen looked around, letting his bright eyes roam along the ground, then up a tree, around a bush, even! Oh, maybe he would find just one more battle before moving on.
Carmen was tired, though she tried to hide it behind and smile, and Copperfield was just floating there with a blank look on his face. Skyler shook his head at the Magnemite and continued down the route, juggling a few Pokéballs - some empty, some not- without much thought, and humming pleasantly to himself. Oh, how fun this training thing was.

ooc// You've got muse? Hooray! Does that mean my threads'll get replies? Pwease? Before the end of this week, because next week I'm in Germany? Oh, but before you mod Sulteron's thread, could you tell me how many levels she can has from her training (click)?
ic// A little Pokémon was watching Skyler. It was a bird, unusual to see at this time of year since many of them were flying south for the winter. Then again, for some, this was south. As for this bird, it stayed home all year round. Twittering in excitement as it saw the trainer, it ran through a few things in it's mind.
If it were to say hello to the trainer, it might get caught. That wouldn't be soo bad, would it? Well, after all, it would get stronger, and stronger was good. It would also be meeting someone new. Yes, it would say hi. And challenge the human to a battle! The Pokémon spread it's wings and swooped noisily down to land in front of Skyler. ~Pi, piroo~ it cooed like a pigeon, the Pidgey fixing Skyling with a beady eye, feathers rising as it challenged the trainer. Just... no Electric types, it thought, spotting Copperfielf nervously.
