Chap. 1 Part 3: Rest Stop!

By the time the two figures walked into Petal Town, the sun was beginning to set, already turning the sky a vibrant scarlet red. Sora and Kana walked along the path, each keeping to themselves at the moment, lost in their thoughts. Or until Sora spotted one of the things she loved the most.

"Hey, they have a library!"

Yes, Sora loved reading. So much, in fact, that she snatched Kana up and was about to race inside, but luckily Kana reminded her of the problem at hand. So the two walked into the Pokemon Center instead, Sora putting her shiny Cavia into her Poke Ball.

Taking out the other two spheres from her bag (she refused to wear a belt), she placed them on the counter in front of Nurse Joy and shyly asked, "Um, can you heal my Pokemon, please?"

Nurse Joy smiled brightly, one that was so happy it was almost creepy, and replied, "I'll take your Pokemon for a moment." The pink-haired nurse set the three balls on some machine, then handed them back to Sora, calling, "Your Pokemon are fully healed! Have a nice day!"

Sora left the PokeCenter as soon as possible ('Too... much... pep...'), opting for the PokeMart instead of the library for now, no matter how much she wanted to look at its books.

Sora looked around for a bit before going through the aisles and picking up a Nevermeltice, a King's Rock, a Heart Scale, three Potions, an Everstone, and the TMs Water Pulse, Protect, Return, Earthquake, and Flamethrower. Walking to the counter, she set the items down and asked, "Um, how much is all of this? And, if you have any Rare Candies, I'd like to buy a couple of those..." Wondering whether or not she should also ask if they had any Quick Claws or element plates, she waited for the clerk's answer.

The clerk seemed quite surprised as she saw all these items. Yikes. This trainer was either rich or silly. Well, she was hardly one to argue; more money for her. It was always great when a trainer like this came in; most just bought a couple of Potions, a handful of Pokéballs. Some, generally the more generous ones, would buy TMs and evolution items such as what Sora was presently doing.

Being a smart and very experienced clerk, it didn't take very long for her to work out the total price. She listed all the prices of each item, too, so if Sora couldn't afford them all, she knew what to leave. "$800 for the Nevermeltice, $800 for the King's Rock, $800 for the Heart Scale, $100 for each Potion, $500 for the Everstone, and $1,500 for each of the TMs Water Pulse, Earthquake and Flamethrower, and $1,000 for each of Protect and Return. Rare Candies are $1,000 each. Anyway, the total of what you've got is $11,200. Are you going to buy a Rare Candy or something else?" she asked, wishing she could jump for joy at the amount of money she would earn.

Sora's eyes widened slightly at the total cost of all the items. Sure, it was a lot, but she should have expected the TM's and evolutionary items to be at least a little expensive.

"Wow. Um... Gimme a sec... Okay, take out the Heart Scale, swap it for two more Potions... Uh, yeah, that's it. So five Potions and no Heart Scale, and the rest of all this too, of course," Sora babbled. She tended to get nervous when doing this sort of thing.

Pulling out a blue pouch from her beaten knapsack, she counted out the correct amount of money and waited for the clerk to... eh, do something with it.

((Not sure if my calculator's messed up or something (probably user error), but I keep adding the price amounts up to $9,700. -shrug- Sorry, but I just couldn't resist adding it up. ^^'))

ooc// Seriously? Well, 1,500 times 4 TMs is 6,000, add on 1,000 times 2 TMs which is 2,000, add on the rest... 6,000+2,000+500+800+800+800+300=11,200.

ic// The clerk took the money, counting out the right amount before handing the rest back to Sora. "Right, that adds up to $10,600." she said, smiling, before changing her mind about something and sliding a few coins back over to Sora with a wink. "Tell you what, I'll give you a discount, just 'cos I feel nice. $10,000 rather than the actual price. I'll throw in a Premier Ball, too, because you've bought so much." she grinned, handing her the promotional rare white Pokéball. Lucky Sora, eh?

The clerk grinned broadly as she dropped Sora's money into the cash register. "Thank you, we look forward to your next visit!" she said as was customary.

Sora obtained a Premier Ball as well as the stuff she bought! ((I've deducted your moneys, by the way)

"Cool! Thanks so much!"[/color] Sora said, sweeping the items off the counter and into her knapsack.

'I really shouldn't have spent all that...' she thought as she walked out of the store. 'Now to the library!'[/color]

As she was walking, she idly noticed two guys in a battle. Watching them for a moment and deciding that they weren't of much interest, she continued on, letting Whirl out on the way since he hadn't been alone with Sora for a while. The two were almost to the library when Whirl saw a flyer on the door.

"Sora, look! They have a Training Gym here. Shall we go train?" Whirl asked, polite as always.

Sora grinned. "We shall." Whirl's Trainer pulled out two other Pokeballs, which let out Shiala and Kana.

"Might as well take the opportunity, right?" she said, winking, and the group headed for their next set of battles.
