It didn't take Sulteron very long to find the gym. She had the three youngsters out; Furnax, Rutilus and Liqunda the shiny Flareon, Draceon and Vapreon. They were playing with each other, their parents Kai and Tsuki keeping them in order. Sulteron would have returned the kids, but they were only recently hatched and so were too young really to go inside their Pokéballs away from their parents. Besides, if she returned them, they would go to her PC. They weren't ready for that, either. To avoid being mean to them, she had therefore let them stay outside. She entered the gym, looking around. So, this was a gym. It was whole new experience for her, and to be honest she was quite nervous.
Looking around the large room with the lines of a battlefield pained along it, she soon spied the gym leader on the other side of the lines. So, that was Atann, was it? Atann, the Normal type gym leader. She knew that her Pokémon were at far higher levels than his, but his Pokémon had been trained specially. Surely that counted for something, right? Now, who choose first... she would save Fairo for last, since she didn't to fight with Mila since she didn't want a type advantage, and other than the Lucario, Fairo was her toughest Pokémon. Who to choose for now, though? Well, Tsuki knew a few powerful Ghost type moves, but they wouldn't effect the Normal types. Kai, then? Yes, that would work. "Kai, I'll fight with you first." she decided, knowing that it would be good for the youngsters to watch their mother battle.
~Settle down, kids, let's watch mummy battle.~ Tsuki told the three cubs, who instantly settled down, expectant grins on their faces. A battle! They'd witness an actual battle! They were very excited about this. Sulteron couldn't help but smile as Kai the shiny Espeon padded gracefully forward to fight Arann. "Arann, I challenge you to a battle!" she called.

The gym leader Atann looked at the pokemorph, then said, "I accept your challenge, we both shall be able to only use three pokemon each, if you do not follow the rules you shall be disqualified." Then turning to a person behind her, the referee who walked to the center of the arena and repeated the rules. Then looked at bot trainers and after walking out of the arena sat down on a little booth off to the side of the arena. Nodding he said, "Trainers, send out your pokemon!" Before Sultron could react the gym leader sent out a Sentret, her first pokemon.

Sulteron nodded. Yes, she was fairly sure she would obey the rules of a single battle, with no more than three Pokémon used in total. Hm, so she was fighting a Sentret, was she? That seemed easy enough, but it was a gym leader's Pokémon and so probably much tougher than it looked. So, what move to use first? All the Pokémon in the Eevee family had poor movesets, so it wasn't too hard to know what to do. She would test Sentret first, to get a feel of what the Pokémon was like. "Tackle, Kai!" she called.
The shiny Espeon nodded, her body flowing gracefully as she moved towards Sentret. She was a reasonably fast Pokémon, so it was likely that the attack would hit. This wasn't so much to deal damage on her opponent, but more to see how the Normal type took damage and how Arann retaliated. A sort of test, as you will. The Tackle grew closer; would it hit?

The Sentret noticing the attack quickly moved off to the side but it was too slow the Espeon hit it on the side sending it spinning around in circles on its tail. Then it fell down the Gym leader, Arann took it in calm and coolly and ordered the Snetret to attack Kai with a Quick Attack. After regaining his balance the Sentret rushed at Kai intending to use quick attack on her for the Tackle attack.

Kai could see that Sentret was tough, as she'd expected. It was trained by a gym leader, after all, so was stronger than what its level might suggest and knew many tactics for various situations. The Quick Attack, being the speedy attack it was, managed to his the shiny Espeon, and the cat cried out in pain. Sulteron could see that she was certainly facing a tough opponent here, as gym leaders could be expected to be. That just made it fun, right? "Psychic, Kai!" she called.
A smile crossed the face of the mint green furred Psychic type as she was told to use her favourite and most powerful attack. Psychic, something Sulteron had taught her using a TM. She set her paws on the ground, glaring at Sentret and focusing hard. Her form glowed purple, and a stream of purple light came towards the Normal type for the attack. It would be hard to dodge, that much was clear. On the side, the children watched with wide eyes to see what would happen, their father smiling at their interest.

The attack hit causing the Sentret much pain much like a massive headache. Sending spazams down the Sentret's body. But it recovered, after seeing this the gym leader ordered the Sentret to use Defense Curl then a Quick attack. The Sentret obeyed first raising its defense, then rushing at Kai. Intending to hurt the Psychic pokemon for the pain it had caused.

Sulteron watched as the spasms caused Sentret to jerk about. The cubs grinned, squealing in happiness. Their mummy was winning! Hm, that attack had worked well. She recognised the Defense Curl; that would raise his defense stat, so it would be harder for them to hurt him. Still, they would manage, right? The Quick Attack struck Kai easily, the move making her skin back a little. The cubs breathed in, completely gripped by the fight. "Kai, use a Confusion before he recovers!" she called.
The Espeon span around to face Sentret again, crouching low, tail waving defensively. A mother protecting her cubs was said to be a powerful force, so she imagined that her cubs were at stake, using their reactions to the fight as motivation. It seemed to work, and she snarled furiously, sending out waves of mental power in a Confusion attack.

The Sentret somehow seemed to know the attack was coming, even as it was recovering. Preforming a little backflip using his tail, even while he was still recovering, somehow handing perfectly on his feet while the attack missed him by a hair. Getting back up on his tail he waited for his trainer's command, which came quite fast.
Attan slightly joyful from her Sentret's evasion quickly gave her order, "Sentret use Scratch, and put your back into it," Still slightly smug from her Sentret's dodge. The Sentret hearing her looked at the Espeon noticing her little kids, which she seemed to be protecting, then throwing caution to the winds got down from his tail and rushed at the Espeon claws ready to make their mark.

Kai growled her annoyance. Sentret had dodged? That wasn't too nice. The Espeon flexed her muscles, tail wriggling . So, he was using a Scratch, was he? She prepared herself for a dodge when her trainer spoke. "Don't dodge! Use a Confusion the moment he strikes!" Sulteron called, hoping it would work. Kai nodded, eyes and forehead gem glowing as she prepared a Confusion attack. When she felt the pain of the Scratch she both winced and attacked, sending a Confusion in hope it would blast Sentret away.

The Confusion attack didn't hit dead on but it hit none the less, but of course with less force, causing the Sentret to be racked with spasms and pain. As soon as the attack's effect faded the Sentret relaxed and then tensed every muscle in preparation for his master's command.
Seeing the pain his Sentret was having Attan winced slightly. Then after he saw his Sentret ready for another attack he said "Sentret use Quick Attack!" The Sentret hearing the command looked at the Espeon with a new hatred for the pain and agony she had given him. Then with all his strength hurled himself at the pokemon with one thought in mind to hurt that creature with all his strength.

Sulteron could see Sentret had taken serious damage from that attack, and Atann ordered it to then use a Quick Attack. The speedy move was heading towards Kai, as the name suggested, quickly. The shiny Espeon snarled, prepared to dodge. However, she wasn't quite fast enough. The mint green feline yelped in pain as the speeding Sentret collided with her body, pushing her back a little. The Psychic type began to pant gently now; the battle had been going on for some time, and she had taken some serious hits so far.
Still, she'd dealt some pretty decent attacks too, and there was definately hope for her at the moment. "Kai, use another Confusion!" she heard Sulteron call, nodding in response. A Psychic attack would probably be too draining of her energy, but a Confusion wouldn't make her too much weaker and she'd already seen how much it could affect Sentret. The cat lowered her head, looking at Sentret with a focused gaze. She then used the Confusion attack, strange purple energy weaving its way through the air towards Sentret.

The Sentret saw the attack and knew that he was low on energy and so was the Espeon. So giving it his all in a almost suciadle move used a Quick Attack rushing into the purple energy hoping the attack would have enough power to go through the mind attack and keep on going. Attan seeing this allmost opened his mouth in command to stop the Sentret but closed it seeing that the move just might work and cause both pokemon to faint even thought he didn't want to lose the Sentret in the battle it would be worth it.
Also while the two were battling several people had sat in the stands and were watching the battle. Indeed almost all of them gasped in shock at the move, it was very reckless indeed.

Kai was at first shocked by this move as well, but she soon went back to her senses. She couldn't loose this. If she lost, she would have failed her trainer, her kids, her lover... No. She would not let that happen! The Espeon stood strong, head lowered and eyes fixed on Sentret. The practically suicidal move would end the battle, and she knew it. But which way would it go? The Quick Attack struck, the shiny Espeon finding it pretty impossible to dodge. She crumpled to the ground, and Sulteron and the Pokemon on the sidelines all fell silent as they watched her with bated breath. Would she get up? Her eyes were still open, but would they close?
Slowly, on shaking legs, Kai got back to her feet. Sheer determination was driving her on now, her flanks heaving as she struggled to get enough oxygen for her aching muscles. Her vivid purple eyes to match Sulteron's in colour bore at Sentret, watching the other Pokemon carefully to see whether he would faint. Her children were practically begging her to keep going at this point, and they helped her keep herself standing there, legs shaking in effort. It seemed to be a stand-off between the two Pokemon at the moment, but who would fall first?

occ/poking all of my threads
The Sentret fell down due to the shock of the confusion attack and was surprised to see his challenger rise to her feet. This however gave him some strength back causing much pain as he rose, every bone and muscle in his body screaming in agony as he moved closer to the Espeon driving up all the strength he could muster he got ready to use his final scratch attack. However it never happened for all the strength left his body causing him to fall down again however this time on his face. As anyone could see he had fainted for the strain was too much for him.
Seeing this the gym leader Atann shook his head seeing his pokemon faint then pulling in a pokeball he recalled the Sentret. Looking at the challenger she pulled out another pokeball and threw it yelling, "Go Bidoof!" The pokemon came out and was slightly suprised to see another pokemon on the field an Espeon as well which was rare but was even more suprised of the tiny Cubs behind the mother. This provoked a smile gentle but directed at the kids.

ooc// Does Kai gain any levels?
ic// Sulteron sighed in relief as Sentret fainted and a Bidoof was released. Of course, Bidoof weren't exactly famous for their fighting skills, but they were the sort of Pokémon you couldn't help but adore. Kai seemed relieved too, finally relaxing and fainting. Sulteron supposed that was to be expected, and returned her to her Pokéball for a nice rest. She then wondered who to send out next. Some of Tsuki's attacks would effect a Normal type, but Mizoro the Taillow would be able to deal damage. "Mizoro, let's start with a Quick Attack!" she called as she released the bird.
The little swallow Pokémon fluttered into the air when released, glancing down at her trainer. Quick Attack? But some of her attacks were more powerful that a Quick Attack! Maybe less accurate, but more powerful. Mizoro knew she could win this easy; after all, she was fighting a Bidoof! The Flying type decided to obey her trainer this time and tease the Bidoof a little. Quick Attack it was. She shot down as fast as she could, speeding in a strong and accurate attack towards the cute chubby beaver.
