It seemed as if only moments before, it had all began. The venture to the lab, and the finding of a new companion... Yes only moments. But now, an eon of adventure stretches as far as the horizon and beyond. A seemingly endless journey, wrought with excitement and joy. Teamwork to be tested and challenged, and new freinds to make along the way... With smiles on their faces, they would race, together, into this journey. They vowed to start it on the right foot... "Here goes Nothing!"Kiku slowed her pace into a fast walk. She huffed and puffed slightly, out of breathe. Both her and her new found companion, Akemi had run from the lab to the start of Route 1. They where as excited as ever, ready to charge forward into what awaited.
Kiku looked down near her feet at the small eevee, and smiled."So, Akemi... You ready...?" she asked, though not able to say much more. She swiped a hand over her forehead and pulled back her long black hair, the blue highlights gleaming. Her ears where pulled back, almost hidden among her hair, except for the rings, as they shined bright yellow and faded away... Akemi let out a tiny laugh at her trainers exhausted state.<Oh, you silly girl! Of course I'm ready... But I wonder about you... Teehee!> Akemi mused, though it came out in the forms of 'Ee!' and 'Vee!' to normal human ears... But the young Pokemorph was able to translate her message. An understanding of Pokemon speech was just amazing, but to Kiku, completely natural. Kiku stopped her walking and stood in a spot along Route one. Akemi came to a halt, and looked up at the Pokemorph. Kiku looked down and grinned. " Oh, Really?". She said is a rather sarcastic voice. She crossed her arms across her chest. "If you want me to show you ready, I will!" Kiku was as ready to go as the young Eevee, even if fatigue was an issue right now. Akemi stuck out her small tongue at Kiku. Once done with the mocking gesture, she sat down and pulled her tail around her small form and let out a large yawn. <No need for that now, Kiku. Let us just wait and see what wanders along the path, yes?> Kiku let out a sight and sat down next to Akemi, her own tail laying beside her. "Alright, if that's what you wish, then so it shall be my Queen." She mocked sarcastically, and did somewhat of a bow in her sitting position. Akemi scoffed at her, a slapped a tiny paw across the girls knee...[/blockquote]

There was a rustling in the grass nearby, followed by the anguished cry of a pokemon. ~Romeo!~ It called, full of pain and longing. The rustling drew closer and closer to Kiku and her eevee, punctuated every few moments by the little call. Across the path stumbled a blue Nidoran. She sighed to herself, tears leaking from the corners of her eyes as she looked around. When she spotted Akemi, she bounced forward, hope in her eyes. ~Have you seen my Romeo, kind friend? He is the most beautiful Nidoran you ever did see, with a shiny coat and rippling muscells.~ She sighed forlornly, waiting for Akemi's answer.

Kiku and Akemi both slightly cringed as they heard such a sad, and anguishing cry. It was enough to tear their hearts in two. What could have made that cry...? A lovestruck Nidoran wandered across the path, tears from her eyes... It had to be one of the saddest things the pair had seen. When the Nidoran asked if they had seen her Romeo, Akemi was almost brought to tears herself. She pressed a paw over her eye, in an attempt to keep from crying herself... The poor little Nidoran.
<I... I'm so-sorry... We... We havn't seen him around here...> Akemi replied to the Nidoran. She wished to conjure up to comforting words for her, but could not find them right now. Kiku placed a hand lightly on the Nidoran's head, and gave it a few pats."I'm sorry, to hear for your loss... But he has to be here somewhere... I bet he's close. It's okay, me and Akemi will help you find him... We will..."

The Nidoran immediatly cheered up when she heard Kiku's promise. ~Oh thank you, thank you!~ She cried, bouncing a little in place. She paused and tilted her head to the side, thinking. ~Maybe we could look around the sparkly nest? Yes, Romeo loves shiny things. She nodded, apparently pleased with her desicion. She trotted toward the tall grass, looking over her should a couple of times to make sure her two new friends were following.
The little poison-type led them to a gigantic tree. Sparkly, golden feathers were littered around its base, but there was no sign of the male Nidoran. Juliet sighed and plopped down on the grass, looking dejected again.
Suddenly, a shriek pierced the air. A pair of shiny pidgey chicks poked their heads out over the edge of a nest high up in the tree. One of them clumsily flapped to the edge and glided down to land next to Juliet. ~Go away pesky pokemon, our we'll get you like we did the last buffoon of a Nidoran who tried to take our feathers!~
Juliet gasped and ran to hide behind Kiku. ~He must have hurt my Romeo!~ She cried in dispair, fear and anger making her eyes sparkle.

When Kiku hear the threat, anger instantly hit her. How dare that Pidgey threaten the poor, lost and upset little Nidoran. Kiku's hands tightened into fists,a and her ears stood straight up. Her red eyes seemed to lose their happy and friendly joy, and became a bright flare of rage. How dare they... " What is it exactly you mean, Pidgey...? What did you do to the other Nidoran. If you hurt him, I swear..." Though it was rather bizarre for someone to become so defensive over someone whom they didn't know, it was her natural instinct. She had to help the Nidorans find each other again... and whoever stood in the way would feel her rage. Akemi padded beside Juliet and placed one paw on the Nidoran's head, and smiled. < Hey there, don't fret... I'm sure your Romeo is fine! Yes he is! We'll make sure of it...> Akemi had the same rage as her trainer, towards the pidgey, but wanted to make sure that Juliet was alright first.[/blockquote]

The Pidgey looked at Kiku, and turned his rage on her. ~Don't worry human. Our prisoner is tied up safely in the nest. But any friend of Nidoran is an enemy of mine!~ With that, he fanned his wings, blowing dust and loose feathers toward the trainer with his Gust attack.
From up above came a strange, muffled cry. Juliet perked up, wrinkling her nose at the sky. ~It's Romeo! I'd recognise his voice anywhere. They have him up there...~

Kiku used her arms to shield her eyes from the barrage of dust and feathers, also bracing herself slightly, though the wind was not all to strong. Once the gust had ended, she pulled her arms down to her side and looked up into the nest."I can't believe you two... Capturing an innocent Nidoran... But if it's a fight you want, it's a fight you'll get. You ready Akemi?" Kiku said, her voice brimming with confidence. She turned her head to look back at her partner and Juliet. Akemi gave a fierce nod. She couldn't believe the nerve of these pidgey... Stooping so low as to capture and tie-up Romeo. Akemi jumped to stand beside Kiku, and crouched down, eyes gleaming. <Ready when you are!> she said, squeaked, and in an instant, charged forward with a tackle. Straightforward attack, but the pair where sure of whet they where doing.[/blockquote]

The tackle hit the pidgey squarely, sending him stumbling backwards. ~You asked for it!~ He crowed, eyes gleaming. Despite his spunk and confidence, the shiny pidgey was not the best strategizer. He didn't try to dodge, or reposition himself for a stronger attack. He just charged forward, head lowers, in a poorly aimed Tackle attack. From up in the tree, his sister cheered him on. On the opposite side, Juliet was cheering for Akemi, filling the air with high pitched squeels of encouragement.

Akemi was rather surprised that her straightforward attack had actually hit the Pidgey. She was expecting somewhat of a challenge from the Pidgey, but as it prepared for it's attack, both Kiku and Akemi could tell that it was not the best fighter.
"Akemi! Remember what we thought up when we left the lab? Lets give that a try!" Kiku said energetically, feeling pumped up and ready to instruct her pokemon through the battle. Akemi nodded, and leapt in front of the Pidgey. Yes, in front of it. She braced herself, her front paws supporting and holding most of her weight, while her hind paws were light and held almost no weight. When the Pidgey crashed into her, she lowered her head and pushed herself up with her front paws, raising into somewhat of handstand, or pawstand. The Pidgey's attack may have hit her, though it was rather sloppy, but it put the Pidgey in the perfect spot. She then, tail first, fell down towards the Pidgey in somewhat of Tail whip, but if it was executed right, she would be sitting atop the Pidgey, pinning him down in defeat.

The Pidgey felt the strange Tail Whip lower his stats and chirped in annoyance. The chirp quickly translated into a squashed sounding caw as the eevee sat on him. The little bird wiggled and twisted, trying to get his wings free. They were useless pinned to the ground. He couldn't even get his head turned around to glare at Akemi.
~Alright alright, you win! Uncle, I give up.~ He whinned. From up above came a musical giggle, and the other pidgey floated down more gracefully to land beside the eevee and her trainer. She giggled again. ~I like you. You're pretty cool. Please don't be mad at my brother. He likes to think he's king of the route. If I let Romeo down, will you play nice with me?~ She turned her head this way and that, as though trying to get the best view possible of Akemi.

Akemi grinned mischievously as the little bird struggled to free himself from under her. It was a good plan, maybe one that wouldn't work against other larger opponents, but if proved to be a laugh and a victory against smaller victims.
She giggled after the sister Pidgey finished speaking.<Be mad with him? Nah! I'm sure he meant little harm in this all, as long as we get Romeo back,> she raised one paw towards the tree, keeping her head turned towards the Female Pidgey<,Then all will be forgiven! And you seem nice enough to be so kind as to return dear Juliet's love, yes?> With that said, Akemi stood up, releasing the poor Pidgey. Though she couldn't help but turn her head towards her released prisoner and stick her tongue out at him, playfully of course.
Once she had finished sticking her tongue at the male Pidgey she turned towards the Female Pidgey once more and gave a brisk nod.<Of course we'll play nice with you! Both me and Kiku, Mmhmm! We're a good pair, just gotta help those who need it you know...> She gave a nervous laugh, and rubber the back of her ear with her bushy tail. <It was a shame that you two turned out to be... Our opponetns in this case...>[/blockquote]

The female flying-type twittered happily and flew up into the tree. A moment later a purple head appeared on the edge of the nest and began to decend. Romeo came into view, looking a little worn, riding in a basket made of vines. His nose twitched as he looked over Kiku and Akemi, but as soon as he spotted Juliet he jumped the last few feet to the ground. The two Nidoran raced in happy circles around each other, nuzzling and murmering happily.
The male pidgey sulked. He fuffed up his feathers and glared at the happy group from the safety of a lowe hanging branch. His sister returned to fly around Kiku's head. ~Don't mind my brother, his pride is just hurt. He thinks he is a big bad battler, but he's not. He'll get over it. Hey can I come on your adventure with you?~ It appeared the little bird was a chatterer. She landed next to Akemi and continued to peep excitedly. ~You beat my brother in battle, so I could take his place and be your pokemon. You could train me to be good and we could see the world and be the best of friends. It would be amazing!~

Kiku and Akemi both smiled as Romeo and Juliet were reunited after a simple, but heartbreaking turn of events. Both where happy that in the end, they were able to help the two find each other, and continue with their happy lives.
As the female Pidgey began to speak again, Akemi and Kiku both couldn't help but giggle. The male Pidgey may not have been the best fighter, but they where sure, that he would learn someday. "No worries there, Pidgey! I'm sure you'll make a great Battler someday! Just don't lose heart and keep at it!"
Kiku called to the Pidgey in the tree, not wanting him to become discouraged and give up. Then, both of them became rather shocked by what the Female Pidgey suggested. Were there actually Pokemon who wished to give up their freedom to join with trainers. Kiku knelt down next to the Pidgey, her ears waving back and forth, head tilted curiously, and hands placed on her knees. "We would love it if you joined our bandwagon... But is it what you really want? Won't you miss your brother, and this tree that you live in? What about the freedom you get without a Trainer... I mean I would let you out of you Pokeball anytime you needed, or all the time at hat, but won't you miss being wild...?" Kiku didn't want to discourage the Pidgey from joining her and Akemi, but she wanted to make sure she was ready for the life she was asking for...[/blockquote]

The pidgey bobbed her head several times. ~I'm a big pokemon now. We'd have to leave soon anyway, now that we are getting old enough to fly and build our own nests. My parents will miss me...~ She paused, looking down cast for a moment. But she perked up as she continued ~But I want to see the world! And asking to join you is easier than losing a battle to the next trainer that comes along. Besides, your one of the nicest trainers I've ever seen. You can talk to me and have a pretty tail.~ She scratched at the ground, a bit bashful at the last compliment.

Kiku smiled, now comprehending why it was that the young Pidgey wished to accompany them on their travels."I see what you mean now... I guess in the life of a Pokemon it's hard to escape getting caught on a regular basis, with all these trainers wandering around..."
She giggled at the little compliment the Pidgey made, and used one finger to gentle stroke the top of her feathery head. "Why thank you, sweetie! But my tail is nothing in comparison to the smooth feathers you have... They are sooo soft I would hug you, but it might hurt you... Hehe, so I promise I won't do that."Kiku opened up her bag and pulled out a tiny pokeball. She pressed the button in the center with her thumb, and smiled as it grew in size. Akemi padded beside the Pidgey and smiled. <I'm glad to see you'll be joining us! This will be awesome! We'll make a great team!> She let out a little giggle. Kiku turned to face the Pidgey and held the Pokeball up to the Pidgey. "Welcome to the Family then! We are glad to have you!" And with that said, the Pokeball opened wide, releasing a glowing red light that consumed the Pidgey, and bringing her into the Pokeball.[/blockquote]
