The little girl smiled ridiculously widely as Sora agreed to help find her "Stevie." She ran a hand over her long hair, and listened to the teen's question. "Well, I have a picture of him here, somewhere . . ." The youth searched around her dress, eventually seeming to make a small rectangle of shiny paper appear from somewhere. On it was a large serpentine Pokemon.
"Isn't he a cutie? Sometimes, we eat ice cream together. He can eat the whole thing in one gulp!! And he has fangs, and I can ride on him! And look how colorful he is! He sparkles!" The girl nodded, then gasped. "Oh, I'm sorry! I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Carolyn Cristopher Lucy Jackson; but you can just call me Carrie!"
She giggled earnestly, having made those extra names up on the spot. After giving Sora a sincere curtsy, she spoke in her quiet voice. "So, what's your name?" Carrie looked at Sora more closely, realizing that she was a bit odd. "D-do you have wings?"

((I am really glad I waited. X3))
The teen took the picture and scrutinized it, not wanting to miss details. 'A shiny. Go figure. This definitely has Team Chaos written all over it.' "Yes, Stevie is very... adorable. You've got a rare Pokemon here, little missie," Sora agreed, wondering how a viper could possibly be called "adorable."
Shiala giggled at the bubbly young girl in front of her trainer, listening to the exchange of words between the two. Whirl was walking around the girl in a sort of bouncy circle, investigating the little lady.
The young lady then introduced herself with several name-like words, which Sora was glad she didn't have to remember when she dubbed herself Carrie. Her next question was normal enough. Sora's reply was normal enough as well: "Nice to meet you, Carrie. My name's Sora, just Sora." However, when the Pokemorph heard her next question, a slightly stuttering one, she froze.
In a flash, Sora had pulled out her periwinkle jacket, folded her wings, and pulled the jacket on. The Pokemorph was looking down at the ground now, mumbling a simple "Yes." She hated when people stared at her wings; Pokemon at least would understand. When she was seen by people, freak was the nicest thing she was called. Coincidentally, she had completely forgotten to hide her wings when she received Shiala from Prof. A.B. Said Eevee was growling slightly at the girl who had upset her trainer, while Whirl was merely watching, but nevertheless on guard.
Now wondering what Carrie would do, the teen Swellow 'morph waited anxiously for her reply.

Carrie gave Sora a winning smile. "Stevie's rare? Wow!" She giggled musically. "I always thought he was just a big 'ole sweetie!"
Her large eyes looked up, sparkling, as Sora told her name. "Sora, Sora! That's a super nice name! I wish my name was like that." She nodded energetically, then almost squealed when Sora answered affirmatively to her second question.
"Wings? That's so cool! One of my friends, he has wings, but they're all icky and cloudy. He doesn't even fly!" Carrie crossed her arms, shaking her head disapprovingly. Not flying! What a crime! After her moment, Carrie broke from her reverie and looked back up at Sora.
"But, but! You're going to help me find my Stevie, right? He's a big softie, so he might be scared! Or hurt! That mean Elekid looked scary!" Carrie took a moment to look at Shiala and Whirl. "But your Pokemon look strong, they do! I bet you could beat that Elekid up, right?" The child spoke to both Pokemon directly, a hopeful smirk on her round face.

All three were at a loss of what to say to the girl. Sora slowly began smiling, glad that she had found someone who accepted her. Shiala and Whirl both looked flustered for a moment, then they both nodded, personally agreeing to help and smiling at Carrie's compliment.
All three suddenly burst out laughing, the tension unnecessary. Sora pulled off her jacket (considering it was still a warm day) and stuck it back in her knapsack.
"Yes, I guess my name is kind of nice," the 'morph said, blushing slightly. "Hmm. If your friend has wings, he must be a Pokemorph like me. I wonder what kind he is..."
"All right, let's go find Stevie," Sora said, snapping out of her reverie. Whirl gave a funny bow to Carrie, and began bouncing around her again. Placing Shiala back on her shoulder, the teen gently held Carrie's hand. "Don't worry, we'll get him back for you. So which way did the Elekid go? You lead the way, Carrie." Whirl bounced up, itching for another fight, while Shiala merely flicked her tail, looking amused and excited. Who knew what the team would find on their trek to get Carrie's Seviper back...

Carrie nodded. Her friend said he was a Pokémorph, or something like that. "Yes yes, Danny's a Pokémorph, I think. His mum is, too. His mum flies, though. She's... Alte... Alteri... Altaria! An Altaria 'morph! Danny's a Swablu 'morph, I think." she said, nodding. her friend was a good laugh. She wondered what he would think when she told him that she helped a flying girl with a really cool name beat the baddies and get back Stevie!
She pointed to Sora's right, back towards AB's lab. "Stevie was giving me a piggyback, when the Elekid came. We played for a bit, and then as soon as I was away from Stevie, Elekid zapped him and took him away! Follow me, Sora!" Carrie said, racing away at a surprisingly fast speed. Eventually, they came to a bush. It was flashing yellow every now and then, crackling with electricity. Voices were heard from within. Voices of an Elekid and a man, by the sounds of it.

Sora flapped her wings slightly to help her keep up with Carrie's brisk pace, with Whirl hopping steadily behind the two. They reached a large bush that was seemingly sending out erratic yellow sparks every now and then. A man's voice came through to them, sounding angry, but the teen 'morph was unable to discern exactly what he said. From her perch on Sora's shoulder, Shiala's ears drew back against her head, and a low growl escaped from her clenched jaws.
Gesturing for Carrie to stay behind her, Sora waved Whirl up, whispering, "Whirl, douse the bush with a Bubble attack."
The tadpole Pokemon complied, sending a stream of large bubbles directly towards the sparking bush. Sora knew that once electricity hit water, whatever it was that was drenched would be electrocuted. Now, she didn't know for sure on whether the idea would work on an Electric-type, but it wouldn't hurt to try. Besides, her Pokemon were ready for anything. ...Right?
((Meh, high school has stolen my muse. X3))

ooc// Poor you. I don't start school again 'till Friday.
ic// Carrie laughed aloud as she saw the Bubble. "Yeah! Hit him! He deserves it!" she shouted. The bush glowed brighter than ever, and it seemed that the Elekid had been shocked; as the blackened bush's leaves blew away, they were revealed. The Elekid was groaning, rubbing his head. The man was yelling furiously at him, and under one arm...
"Stevie! Stevie, I'm here! The nice Sora will get you free!" Carrie squealed in joy. The Seviper was thrashing about, biting the man, but to no avail; he was wearing thick leather gloves. However, there was another Pokémon involved. The Elekid was holding a madly struggling and slightly steaming Pokémon. The Cavia was wheeking madly, as guinea pigs do. ~MWEEEK! MWEEEEK! MMMMMMWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKK! Trainer, heeeeeeeelp!~ she squeaked. The man, who wore a Team Chaos shirt, glared at Sora. "What are you doing! Get lost, pipsqueak! Elekid, let's show 'em!" he said. Whirl would be no match for an Electric type, after all.
Elekid then made a big mistake. Since he would need both paws to fight Sora, he threw the still wheeking Cavia at the grunt. The man missed the easy catch. While he roared in anger at the poor Elekid, Cavia raced as fast as her tiny legs could carry her, leaping surprisingly high into Sora's arms. She snuggled down, sighing. ~Oh, my, safe at last! Trainer, you're a star! Thank you!~ she said in delight. Sora might notice that this rodent was a little different in colouring... a shiny Cavia?
"You moron, you lost our other shiny! Urgh!" the grunt finished. Yes, the Cavia snuggling up to Sora was indeed a shiny Pokémon. "Well, little girl, pick your Pokémon!" the grunt spat.

Sora gasped as the grunt and his prisoner were revealed. Stevie really was a shiny! His scales sparkled in the sunlight. Childishly, Sora's only thought at that second was 'SHINY!' However, this soon changed to... something else when she realized there were two others. The slightly burnt Elekid, and a struggling Cavia... which Sora realized was another SHINY!
However, her thoughts once again changed as the poor Cavia squealed for help.
"What are you doing! Get lost, pipsqueak! Elekid, let's show 'em!"
"Why don't you make me?" Sora taunted, making a face.
Right in the middle of her childish streak, the Elekid threw the struggling shiny to the idiot grunt, who missed the catch completely. After which, the Cavia ran towards Sora and made a surprisingly high jump into her arms, which the Pokemorph staggered back when she landed, having not expected it.
Cavia curled up in her arms, and Sora began stroking her fur, much like she did with Shiala back at the lab. After having sufficiently calmed the small Pokemon down, the teen set her down next to Whirl and let Shiala leap off her shoulders.
"All righty then, I choose Shiala. But I'm making this a double battle," Sora said cockily. She stepped forward. "Shiala, you take Elekid. I'll take the idiot grunt. Shiala, use Tackle!"
With that lament, the teen 'morph flared her wings, and dove through the air towards the grunt with her hands balled into fists. 'Let's see how well the battle goes now!' Sora thought with satisfaction. 'I don't mind Team Chaos, but it feels good to get back into using my awesome martial arts techniques again!' The 'morph gave a completely idiotically happy smile and sent nine lightning-fast punches towards the grunt's weakest points, while Shiala smiled deviously as she began her attempt at confusing the Elekid with a roundabout Tackle attack.
((Don't ask me to explain the nine points. It's just something I heard about in one of my favorite animes. And since Pokemon is also an anime, I think I'm allowed to bend the rules of real martial arts a bit. So if anyone's seen Ranma 1/2 or Rurouni Kenshin, that's where I'm getting my inspiration. :3))

ooc// Soz, I don't watch any animes and have no knowledge of martial arts, either. XD
ic// Carrie grinned. "Yes, trainer! Thanks so much!" she squealed in delight as the battle begun. Stevie struggled despertely to free himself, but to no avail. Cavia, who had jumped from Sora's arms when she moved in to fight, cheered for her and Shiala as well.
Since Tackle attack doesn't confuse foes, Elekid couldn't be confused by it. However, he couldn't keep track of it as the Eevee moved too fast, and was easily hit by it. He groaned, but didn't do anything; he knew that his trainer the Grunt would yell at him furiously if he attacked without orders. The Grunt had moaned as he fell to the ground, but somehow managed to keep a hold on Stevie. He held up his hand in begging for mercy. "Stop! STOP! Hey, that was uncalled for! Trainers don't attack people randomly, it's not nice! How would you like it if Elekid shocked you?" he snarled. Elekid's ears crackled in electricity as a warning that he spoke the truth. "Look, let's make this a Pokémon battle, OK? Elekid, use Thundershock on the Eevee!" he yelled.
Elekid grinned, happy to obey. That annoying fox was about to get a serving of what she deserved. He grabbed a fistfull of Shiala's fur to make his move that bit more effective, and let loose all the electric power he could muster.

((Not meant to be an actual confused-status inducer attack, just make the Elekid dizzy or something when Shiala ran around him in circles.))
Sora stopped beating on the grunt when she heard him complain. Standing over him, she waggled a finger. "Well, it's not nice to steal other people's Pokemon, so we're even," she said, her tone making it sound like she was a parent talking to a disobedient child.
Back with Shiala, the little Eevee tried to wrestle out of the Elekid's grasp, but to no avail. She cried out in pain as the Elekid's Thundershock ran through her.
<You... can't even... do a thing... on... your own... can you..?> Shiala taunted in a strained voice, struggling to stand. Sora about-faced towards her injured Pokemon and called urgently, "Shiala, use Growl, then follow up with Tail Whip!" 'Maybe I should send out Whirl instead... But he's weak to Electric-types... Jeez, I didn't expect the Elekid to be so dang strong!' Sora thought with frustration.

As Sora returned to the sidelines to control the battle and help Shiala, Cavia instantly leapt into the warm, snuggly safety of her arms again. She liked it there very much, and this was a fiesty, brave, smart, daring trainer. The sort who'd be good to the cavy Pokémon. Perhaps this was a trainer she could go with on her adventures? The grunt, meanwhile, had got a stronger grip on poor Stevie. Carrie had her fingers tightly crossed, biting her lip and hardly daring to watch the battle.
Elekid growled, angry at Shiala's comment. Dumb Eevee! What did she know? His trainer was so awesome he'd listen to him! That made him a better Pokémon, apparently. The Electric type was caught out by both the Growl and the Tail Whip, weakening his Attack and Defense stats. "Erm, Elekid, stay calm and stay there. I wanna see what she's up to." his grunt ordered, and he obeyed.

Sora grinned. Not exactly the moment she'd been waiting for, but it was good enough! Stroking the Cavia in her arms again (the little thing seemed to be quite attached to her), the blue-haired teen gave her Pokemon her instructions.
"All right Shiala, remember what you did on your first battle? Let's do it again! Secret technique!" the 'morph called. It was impossible for the grunt to know what the attack was, let alone what it should do to his Elekid.
Whirl's tiny jaw fell open, then he started laughing uproariously. 'One of the attacks they used against me! Got to hand it to Sora, she couldn't have picked a better time to have a hidden technique,' Whirl thought, a happy look pasted on his small face.
Even Shiala, weak as she was, was trying to fight off the smile that was threatening to grow on her face as well. The young fox stood up and dashed away from the Electric-type. Now the grunt and/or the Elekid might have thought she was running away, but that was not the case.
In a split second, Shiala doubled back around and charged at the yellow Pokemon in what looked like another basic Tackle attack. But the moment she was only a couple feet away yet out of Elekid's reaching range, the Eevee leaped up, curled into a ball, flipped through the air, and dove for Elekid in another aerial Tackle attack.

Cavia gave an odd, deep purr as she was stroked. Oh, that felt really nice. Warm, kind, gentle hands massaging her aching muscles. Her eyes closed in pleasure. So not all humans were bad after all. This one seemed to be really, really good. Cavia could definately get used to this!
Elekid sighed, giving a huge mock yawn as Shiala began to charge at him. He hadn't even taken a hit yet, and the Eevee had taken... OK, only one, so she probably wasn't that tired and had a lot left in her, but still. A moment before he judged the Tackle to hit, he whistled casually, taunting Shiala as he took a simple step to one side. However, no fuzzy brown form whizzed past him. No gasp of surprise, and squeal of sorrow as she realized she'd missed. Huh? What was going on?
"Elekid, look out! In the air!" the Grunt practically screamed, face red in anger. Elekid instantly stared up. He saw a brief flash of the sun before it was hidden by a spinning, fluffy brown form. He'd looked up just in time, and the intsant he'd done so, he had a mouthful of dirt and Eevee hair as the fox struck him down. He groaned, getting up weakly. That Tail Whip hadn't helped his odds, and he'd taken the damage worth of two hits, not one. "Elekid, get her back! Thundershock!" the grunt yelled madly. Elekid strained himself, generating a thin blue toungue of electricity which licked it's way through the air at Shiala. It was pretty weak thanks to Elekid's weakened Defense.

"Shiala, dodge!" Sora called, grinning widely. Maybe the Electric-type hadn't been as strong as she'd previously thought.
The fox happily complied with her Trainer's request. Though she was still in a bit of pain from the Pokemon's earlier attack, Shiala jumped up and to the left of the lightning, and softened the landing a bit by rolling once she felt the ground. The result: The small blue electric bolt passed harmlessly by.
<Surely... you can do... better than that?> Shiala taunted again, swishing her tail and grinning.
"All right Shiala, the battle's almost done! Use another Tail Whip, then give him another good Tackle!" the teen 'morph called jovially. 'We might just win.'
Sora's little Eevee gathered the remains of her strength, dashed forward, and tried to swipe her furry tail across the Elekid's face. But would the attack hit?
((I think that's the first time I've ever had Shiala actually dodge. owo))

ooc// What makes you say it's almost over? Elekid's only taken one hit (even if it was very powerful)
ic// Elekid snarled in annoyance as Shiala leapt away to dodge his attack. Stupid Eevee. Urgh, he'd beat the living daylight outa her! Then she'd learn her lesson. That is, if his master wanted her to. Oh, his master was so great and amazing and cool and wonderful! The Electric type could do nothing to prevent his Defense stat from being lowered again, cursing the move under his breath. He did, however, thankfully manage to dodge the Tackle, amazingly leaning over while standing on one arm. He wobbled while Shiala move past, but luckily didn't fall from this position until the attack was over.
"Yes, Elekid! Now we're finally getting somewhere! Right, use Quick Attack!" yelled the Grunt. Elekid displayed a burst of astonishing speed. He zipped at a pretty surprising speed towards Shiala. Well, surprising for something as robust as an Elekid. But, none the less, it was a Quick Attack all the same.
