((Hurrah for 51st post! And as for the "thinking-the-battle's-over" thing, it just shows that Sora needs to expect the unexpected a bit more, not to judge a book by its cover, and various other cheesy lines. XD She just THINKS the battle's almost over.))
Sora almost dropped the Cavia in her arms as Shiala's Tackle failed, and that the Elekid indeed had plenty of energy left, proving this fact by complying with his "Trainer's" request for a Quick Attack. Shiala was also stunned (I mean, seriously, she hadn't been expecting the Elekid to do a partial handstand as a technique for dodging), and thus she was hit with the possibly tide-turning Quick Attack.
The impact of such a fast-moving object knocked Shiala into the air, the fox hanging limply as the talons of gravity swooped down and snatched her up.
No matter what anyone thought, she was weak, and the landing would've hurt any way she tried to cushion the fall. She didn't even let out a yelp; her only thought was to try to stay conscious.
'I won't lose,' Shiala thought stubbornly. Though battling wasn't her favorite thing in the world, one thing she couldn't stand was giving up. She may have almost fallen unconscious while battling Whirl, but it was her first battle, and besides, now she had someone (excluding Sora, of course) she needed to protect.
Running on pure adrenaline and willpower, the brave Eevee struggled to stand on her paws without keeling over, and when she finally managed that difficult task ('I swear I'll not take standing for granted again,' she thought), Shiala bared her teeth, albeit weakly, and tried her best to do a Growl attack. It probably came out as a pitiful squeak or something, Shiala was unable to tell, but she could only hope that it did the trick.
Sora, on the other hand, was doing a credible imitation of a stone statue, and cringing at Shiala's obvious pain and discomfort. But they couldn't afford to lose this battle. Even if she sent Whirl out, he was at a type disadvantage. And even if she herself went against the Grunt once more, the Elekid would surely electrocute her, and in the process, the Grunt would make off with Stevie and the shiny Cavia, who she had quickly warmed up to.
No... Losing was not an option...
((Weeeeeell, that was my pathetic attempt at a climactic situation or whatever those are called. Man, that "losing-was-not-an-option" line was so dang CHEESY in my opinion! I wonder how I even managed to type the thing up... X3))

ooc// Lawl, cheesy. Kinda, but what the hey.
ic// Elekid smiled as he saw that the plan had worked successfully, seeing his master give him a satisfied nod. Yes! He'd made his master pleased! Well, that was his main and very useful and important goal. The Electric type watched Shiala as she recovered, carefully taking in the Eevee's every slight movement. The Elekid's ears crackled softly with electricity as he did so.
The grunt was, indeed, pleased with his Elekid. He was fairly new to beingon Team Chaos, and Elekid had been his first Pokémon. However, if he managed to get this shiny Seviper- he tightened his grip nervously- and the shiny Cavia from Sora if he could, he would be rewarded greatly. Probably... well, he'd probably either get to keep one of the shinies or be rewarded by getting a rare Pokémon... Dratini, maybe, or a Carnivine. He was excited, hoping to win this fight.
Elekid saw that Shiala's move had been a Growl. Pft. Easy. Well, his stats had been weakened a lot in this battle. His attacks were now considerably weaker, and each blow was more effective on him. He tensed his muscles, ready to spring or fire a jet of electricity. However, the grunt raised his free hand. "No, Elekid. The girl's clearly playing a trick. Wait and see what happens; don't be lured into the trap." he said, thinking that that was what Sora was doing.

"Shiala, use Tackle!" Sora cried, clutching the Cavia in her arms. 'Might as well come out and say it,' she thought. Contrary to the grunt's thought that she was planning a trap, in reality, Sora had nothing left. Her objective, as well as Shiala's, was to just attack and attack until the battle was over or the Eevee had fainted.
Of course, Sora did have a Revive, but she wasn't sure if the grunt and his Elekid would allow her enough time to use it if Shiala did faint.
Returning to reality, the Pokemorph continued observing the battle, trying to keep calm and come up with another strategy. Shiala had already rushed ahead, limping slightly, and prepared to come into contact with either the Elekid or the cold, hard ground. 'If this Tackle fails, I'm not sure I've got enough energy in me to try again...' Shiala thought, barely hanging on to consciousness.

Elekid watched Shiala come closer. His trainer hadn't said anything yet, but he'd have to do something... unless this was the trap his smart trainer recognized! Yes, that had to be it! If... if he dodged, something horrible would happen! He'd be tricked. Proudly, with a smug smile on his face, he stood very still. The Tackle hit right on, and his weakened Defense stat didn't help too much as he cried out in pain, finding himself flung to the ground like a rag doll. When he got up, he was panting heavily, pretty weak.
The Grunt snarled in fury. "What do you think you're doing, Elekid?! Snap out of it and attack! For Arceus' sake!" he growled. Elekid tried his best, but the world just didn't want to stop swaying. The Electric type did his best to look alert. The Grunt seemed satisfied, anyway. "Right! Now, let's use Leer to weaken it before we finish it off!" he yelled, referring to the Eevee as 'it' rather than 'she'.
Elekid nodded, although he doubted that he'd survive another turn to be able to 'finish Shiala off'. However, he had to obey. His trainer knew best, he always did! The Pokémon's swaying world held the Eevee in it, and he focused on the fluffy brown fox as best as he could as he glared a horrible glare. This was his Leer attack, which would lower Shiala's Defense stat.

Shiala didn't move as the Leer lowered her defense. She was so weak already...
She stood up again, slowly but surely. However, her right forepaw was a little off the ground. She had injured it.
"C'mon Shiala, you can do it! One last Tackle attack!" Sora called, unintentionally tightening her grip on the Cavia. Whirl was stock-still in front of Carrie, still waiting to see how the battle would end. 'We have to rescue Stevie and this Cavia. Team Chaos can't be allowed to keep them locked up,' Sora thought.
Shiala padded forward, gingerly stepping on her injured forepaw. She tilted her head down slightly and prepared for another impact.

Elekid looked desperately to his trainer as he heard this finalizing command, but the only response he got was a frown and a stern nod in the direction of the battle. But... why was that? His trainer knew all, so surely he could tell that Elekid didn't have much left in him? Well, perhaps Elekid would have to sometimes take things into his own paws, such as times like these. The Electric type would have to dodge the Eevee's Tackle. However, being as weak as he was, his attempts failed. Knowing he was defeated the moment he felt impact, the Pokémon fell to the ground, defeated.
Shiala gains two levels!
The Grunt looked ready to roar in anger as his hopes of a rare Pokémon were dashed... or were they? Returning the Elekid to his Pokéball, he didn't let go of Stevie. The Seviper was putting up even more of a struggle now. Carrie wailed, racing out to her Pokémon. "No! No, you promised! Let Stevie go!" she cried, hitting the man with no effect.
The Grunt shook his head. "I made no such promise." it was true; he hadn't. "I'll just be off with my Seviper now. Thanks." he said simply, turning to leave, walking away. Carrie looked at Sora, eyes filled with tears. Cavia wriggled in her arms, snarling madly at the Grunt. "Trainer, you have to help get Stevie back! We've gotta distract the Grunt so he'll not notice us and loosen his grip!" she suggested her plan. Hm, he'd been quite interested in Cavia earlier; perhaps the shiny could be used to create said distraction?

Sora made a halfhearted dash for the Grunt, yelling, outraged, "Get back here, you jerk! That Pokemon doesn't belong to you!"
However, she stopped her chase. She had the Cavia in her arms to worry about, and the almost-unconscious Shiala. Sora ran over to her partner and, letting the Cavia down again, reached into her knapsack and pulled out her final potion. She sprayed it on the little vulpine and let the liquid do its work.
"Carrie, don't worry, we'll get Stevie back. I can promise you that," the teen said, an odd hard look on her face. Listening to Carrie's plan, she readily agreed. After all, her previous punching spree had still ended with the Grunt keeping a hand on the shiny Seviper. So that idea was out.
Something occured to Sora. The Grunt wanted shinies, right? Well, what if he got one?
"Say, Cavia, how about a little game? Sora said, grinning evilly. "Don't worry; if it goes as planned, you'll be able to get revenge on that Grunt if you want, without any danger of being hurt or kidnapped. Now, I'll fly up, carrying you and Whirl," she began, speaking to everyone now. "Carrie, you'll be following behind me with Shiala. When I catch up to the Grunt from the air, I'll get low enough to the Grunt to drop Whirl and Cavia safely on him, and then you two attack with all you've got. Avoid Stevie, of course. Then when Carrie and Shiala arrive, Shiala will deal the finishing blow, now that Elekid's fainted, and Carrie will finally be reunited with Stevie. So, who's in?
Shiala, now awake, readily agreed, wanting to get her own revenge on the Grunt (and also ignoring the ways this plan could go wrong). Whirl was a bit nervous about being dropped on someone, but he agreed in the end as well. Sora turned to Cavia and Carrie. 'What will they say?'

The Grunt was grinning to himself, pleased at what he'd done. He may have lost the shiny Cavia, but the Boss didn't know he'd ever seen the Cavia, did he? All he knew was that he was bringing him a shiny Seviper- and they were rarer than Cavia, anyway. He heard a faint sound, and froze. Could that be the girl following him? He looked about. Nope, no-one there. He continued walked, sighing in relief as he heard the sound again; it was the sound of wings. Definately not the girl, then.
The next thing he knew, the shiny Cavia dropped into his arms.
Oh, boy! He was sure on a lucky streak right now! Oh, thank Arceus! Cavia tried to bite and scratch and claw him, but he held her firmly under his other arm. His spirits soared. Oh, a promotion was in store for him, no doubt!
Then a Polywag came. What? Now he could hardly believe his luck. True, Whirl wasn't shiny, but hey. A Polywag. Why not? This Pokémon was attacking him too, and unfortunately he only had two arms. He was slapped and hurt badly.
Next thing, that pesky Eevee from earlier rammed into the back of his head. Oh, jeez! That hurt! His grip on both Cavia and Stevie was released instantly as he yowled in pain, before moaning in horror as he realized what had just happened. He looked between all the Pokémon. They were angry; Polywag, Eevee, Cavia and Seviper. Oh, no. He screamed, racing off into the distance. Well, that was a relief. The Grunt was gone, and all the Pokémon were back to their owners.
Carrie flung her arms around Stevie, and the serpent lifted her up to his back. She laughed as he carried her away, probably safely back home. "Thanks, Sora!" she grinned as she waved goodbye. Cavia didn't go anywhere; she seemed inclined to stay with Sora. ~Can I... go with you?~ she asked shyly.

From the air, Sora's watchful eyes narrowed slightly when the Grunt got Cavia tucked under his other arm. Then she sent down the next package; that seemed to make the situation better, in any case. And for the final part of the plan, Shiala rammed herself into the back of the Grunt's head, causing him to let go of all three Pokemon. Sora giggled when she saw their faces.
They were not happy. The Swellow Pokemorph laughed as the four Pokemon ran the Grunt off. Landing, she watched as Carrie was reunited with Stevie.
"Thanks, Sora!"
The teen waved and called, "Any time, Carrie! You two take care!" She stood there for a moment with a goofy grin on her face, wondering 'What now?' She snapped back to reality when she heard the Cavia.
The Trainer grinned brightly. Cavia wanted to come with her? It was a perfect "Squeee!" moment. Sora hastily took out a Poke Ball. She crouched down in front of the shiny Pokemon, and offered the red and white sphere.
"You can just travel with me, or you can join my team. It's completely up to you, Cavia," Sora offered, smiling. Either way, Sora wouldn't mind.

Cavia's face lit up the moment she heard those words. She could go with this trainer?! That would be amazing, wonderful, fabulous! She would be cared for and loved and get stronger! This trainer had saved her from the nasty Grunt, and so that alone proved that she would be a very nice trainer, and a strong one, too. And she was a Pokémorph; they could talk to Pokemon.
No, there was no doubt about what Cavia would choose at this offer. After barely a second's thought, the shiny placed her paw on the Pokéball's button with a happy, excited squeal. The red light drew her inside, and she remained as still as she could until she felt the Pokéball ping, knowing she now belonged to Sora.
Sora caught a shiny Cavia!

Sora smiled again, looking at the smooth sphere in her hand. A shiny Cavia... The teenager stood up again and threw the Poke Ball into the air, and watched as it released a beam of red energy that transformed into the Cavia. At the same time, she withdrew Whirl and Shiala, figuring that they really could use a break.
"Okay, Cavia, we need a name for you. Something not too "pretty" or "dull," but something sort of interesting as well," the 'morph said, gazing at the guinea pig Pokemon. "How 'bout Kana?"
<Kana... Sure, I like it! Kana!> the newly-dubbed Kana replied jovially. 'Oh, this'll be so fun, traveling to different places right alongside Sora!' Kana thought, smiling at the prospect.
Sora idly ran her fingers through her long hair before glancing down the route, then said, "Well, we're losing daylight, so what do you say we get off this Route and head into Petal Town?" Kana nodded, and the two new friends "set sail" for Petal Town.
[Off to Petal Town!]
((Wow, finally, it's done. Took way longer than expected, but I think it was worth it. X3))
