Kairi and her Pokemon entered Route 3. Kairi was very excited right now, for two reasons. One because she had three little eggs tuched away in her bag that would soon become three little shiny Eevees. And two, this was the last Route before the first City that had a gym and a Contest Hall in it.
Kairi had decided to do some hard training on this Route to prepare for her first gym battle. And she would also have to work on Contest moves for the Contest as well. She had already decided to enter in Pikachu into the first Contest Hall. She'd be entering him into the Cool Contest. So, she had to prepare him for it.
But first she decided to take a little break. It was a beautiful morning, so she decided to look after her eggs a little bit, like a good Breeder would. After all, being a Breeder was her goal right? She sit down on the grass up against a tree. Pikachu, Shiva and Shaymin sit next to her. Shiva was already doing a lot better now, since she had laid the eggs.
Kairi took out a cloth out of her bag and took all three eggs out, and started polishing them one by one, making the eggs sparkle and look even more shiny then what they already were. "Glace!" Shiva said grinning. She thought her eggs looked so beautiful, shinning in the sunlight, like that.
"Aren't they beautiful, Shiva? It shouldn't be too long until they hatch, as long as I continue to take great care of them," Kairi grinned at the ice type as she polished the eggs. Shiva sniffed the one egg that wasn't hers. Even though it wasn't an egg she had laid, Shiva was already taking a liking to it. And it hadn't even hatched yet, either.
Kairi kinda giggled a little bit when Shiva curled up against one of the eggs, to try and keep it warm, just like a mother hen would. Or in this case, a mother Torchic. After warming up and polishing the eggs, Kairi put the cloth and the eggs back into her backpack. She was kinda worried though. She knew Team Chaos was still tracking her. And here she was walking around with a Shaymin and three Pokemon eggs.
Kairi knew that Shaymin could take care of herself, but what if Kairi got into a very tough fight and in the rumble of it all the eggs broke? She knew that would just break Shiva's little heart. And her heart had already been broken before. Kairi never wanted to ever see any of her Pokemon sad ever again.
Kairi then let all her Pokemon out of there PokeBalls and fed them. She also fixed something to eat for herself as well. She then called her Pokemon back into there PokeBalls, expect Shiva and Pikachu and Shaymin who wasn't hers yet. She wanted to train Pikachu for the upcoming Contest but couldn't think of any good moves right now.
Oh well, she decided maybe she'd teach him a little bit later on. Maybe at the Pokemon Center when she gets there. "Ok, let's go guys," she said. Pikachu, Shaymin and Shiva got up and followed her as they walked off.

The Route seemed quiet, for the most part. If the faint rustling in a nearby bush aroused any suspicions, the Sentret which emerged breifly, taking in the surroundings before returning to the bush's leafy shelter would calm those doubts. However, a pair of eyes were in fact watching Kairi and her Pokémon. Human eyes.
The Team Chaos Grunt watching this girl as she messed about with her eggs. This grunt was the same one she had met very briefly way back on Route One. He'd been out and about a lot, doing various missions, got tougher and found Kairi again. Why was she cleaning the eggs? They wouldn't know they were clean, and they looked pretty sparkly anyway? Hey, maybe they were shiny eggs!
The grunt leaned closer, intruiged as he watched her feed her Pokémon. It was interesting to see what Pokémon she had now. Some didn't look very strong, others had increased greatly in strength. And... a Shaymin! Oh, he'd hit the jackpot here. Revenge and a promotion, awesome! Sneaking up behind Kairi, he grabbed her arms and held them behind her back so she couldn't fight back. "Hey, there. Remember me?" he asked cruelly.

After Kairi had put away her eggs back safely into her backpack and called everyone expect Pikachu, Shiva and Shaymin who wasn't even her's yet back into there PokeBalls she noticed that the Route seemed a little bit too quite. "I don't like this guys. It's too quite." But Pikachu knew something was up. He could smell it.
Pikachu saw a dark shadow approach Kairi,"Pika!" He warned. It was too late. The Chaos grunt grabbed Kairi turning her around to face him, holding her by the wrist. It was the same grunt that she and her friend, her old friend, Katie had met back on Route 1. He had told her, he'd be back for revenge and it looked like he meant it.
"Let go!" Kairi demanded, as he was squeezing her wrist too hard. She felt like her wrist was going to snap in two. Pikachu got mad and screamed out, his new attack, Shock Wave. But the attack also hit Kairi. She fell over anime style,"Gee, thanks a lot Pikachu," Kairi says rolling her eyes. She then got back up standing in front of Shiva, Pikachu and Shaymin wanting to protect them.
But Shaymin growled at the grunt. She changed into her sky form and jumped out in front of Kairi,+You!+ She demanded,+You Chaos grunts are responible for why those Pokemon in Route 2 keep getting sick! I'm going to make you pay for hurting helpless Pokemon. Also I heard the story about that shiny Suicune. I'll make you pay for her sake as well!+ Shaymin growled.
"You mean you really want to fight, Shaymin? Are you up for it?" Kairi asked her. Shaymin, turned and nodded her head at Kairi. She then turned back and growled as she said,+These guys have been hurting a lot of Pokemon. And someone needs to teach them a lesson!+ Kairi nodded, sending Pikachu over to fight with Shaymin just in case. She'd keep Shiva for backup.

The Grunt merely laughed at all of this. Ha. The stupid little girl was really going over-the-top with all this, making a big deal about everything, trying to be dramatic. She sorta looked... well, what she was, stupid. Seriously. She was acting like it was a big surprise, but it sounded like she had written a script for this. Except for perhaps Shaymin's own venture, for she didn't looked experienced enough to be able to force a legendary to say something.
He raised an eyebrow, not feeling the least bit threatened by the prospect of facing Shaymin and Pikachu. One corner of his lips lifted in a half-smile. "Aw, is precious Shaymin too delicate to fight on her own? She can't fight by herself, can she? She's a little wimp, just like her human companion." he chuckled. Dumb Shaymin. Seriously, why was Kairi fussing over her so much? He was pretty sure that any Pokémon, from Magikarp to Arceus, would be able to fight by themselves.
"Well, let's just make poor lickle Shaymin in danger! Oh, boo hoo, she has to fight by herself because the nasty grunt is gonna fight a single battle even though her human partner has Shaymin as her favourite! Yeah, that's right, puny Pokémon, it's pretty obvious that your trainer likes Shaymin more than all of you put together, except perhaps Pikachu." he grinned evilly, watching Kairi's expression carefully. He felt there was some truth in his words, from what he'd seen of this girl.
He now took a Pokéball from his belt and threw it, the Pokémon inside forming in front of Shaymin. He was careful to pick one of his Pokémon which would not be type advantaged or disadvantaged, but this was tricky, since there was a lot of types involved, mostly on Shaymin's weaknesses. The Pokémon which emerged from the Pokéball would fight Shaymin in a single battle, and was an Absol.

The grunt started laughing at Kairi,"Aw, is precious Shaymin too delicate to fight on her own? She can't fight by herself, can she? She's a little wimp, just like her human companion." Shaymin growled at the grunt after he insulted her like this, telling Pikachu to back off that she could handle it. Pikachu nodded and got back on Kairi's shoulder. Kairi hoped that Shaymin could handle it. After all she hadn't caught her in a PokeBall yet. So if the grunt weaken her and threw a PokeBall, she'd be in trouble. 'I bet he can't even aford them,' Kairi thought, sighing in relief, thinking that meant Shaymin was safe from being caught. As long as the grunt didn't somehow steal a Master Ball that is. "Well, let's just make poor lickle Shaymin in danger! Oh, boo hoo, she has to fight by herself because the nasty grunt is gonna fight a single battle even though her human partner has Shaymin as her favourite! Yeah, that's right, puny Pokémon, it's pretty obvious that your trainer likes Shaymin more than all of you put together, except perhaps Pikachu." He said lectoring Shaymin. "Hey! I like all my Pokemon the same, you jerk!" Kairi screamed. She ran up to him intending to punch him in the face for saying that, when an he threw a PokeBall releasing an Absol. Kairi looked up Absol in her Pokedex: Every time Absol appears before people, it is followed by a disaster such as an earthquake or a tidal wave. As a result, it came to be known as the disaster Pokémon. As a result, it was mistaken as a doom-bringer. It is a long-lived Pokémon that has a life-span of 100 years.Kairi turned very pale after she read the part about it bringing disasters,"That can't be true can it?" Kairi said as she backed away, Pikachu still on her shoulder. She could see in her mind her and her Pokemon laying in a pool of there own blood. So, she did the only real thing she could think of. She put Pikachu and Shiva in there balls, grabbed Shaymin and turned around and ran for her life, just in case the Pokedex was right about Absol bringing disasters.(lol, sissy!)

The Grunt thought that she was running from him. Yep, just as he expected. Wimps, all of them. He sighed... he sort of wished he could get in a good fight with a tough, confident trainer. Then his brain swamped him in a puff of logic. Kairi had been so itching to fight, reluctant about precious Shaymin, yes, but otherwise practically buzzing with it. Then why would she run away with her tail in between her legs? Huh. Perhaps she'd put up a fun struggle after all. Maybe he should chase after her anyway.
Absol's gaze met his, and suddenly he realised, hands curling into fists in anger. She had looked up Absol in the Pokédex. She, like many before her, had mistaken Absol for the bringer of destruction. What an idiot. The Pokédex had even said that Absol were mistaken for doom bringers! Mistaken, not actually doom bringers but thought to be them! And she'd discovered this and still thought a tornado was going to appear out of thin air because he'd released one of the white wolves!
The Grunt sighed again. He should explain to the slow moron of a tiny wimpy girl. He needed to get her back. Well, yelling 'come back' would not be of much use, so perhaps he could do it an easier way. Using his Pokémon. He released a Ponyta, mounting her and jabbing his heels into her sides to make her sprint towards Kairi. Ponyta were speedy Pokémon, and the grunt caught up with her in seconds. "What are you doing? Didn't you hear the Pokédex? Absol are mistaken for being doom bringers! They just try to warn humans of natural dissasters, and then humans can't understand them and when such dissasters happen, they blame the Absol! Don't be stupid like all those people!" he shouted.

OOC: Know what would be interestingt, is if Kairi got that Grunt to change his ways and quit Team Chaos and become a good guy.
After Kairi had ran off the Absol had growled at how Kairi had reacted to what the Pokedex had told her. As she was running Kairi tripped over a stone and fell flat on her face. She looked down. She had fallen flat on top of Shaymin,"Oh! Shaymin, I'm so sorry!" She panicked. But Shaymin was already knocked out cold from this.
And she saw the Grunt ridding up on Ponyta,"What to do!? I must hide Shaymin. If he sees it's fainted, he'll throw a PokeBall for sure," Kairi put Shaymin into her bag with her three shiny Eevee eggs, hoping that the Grunt would think that Shaymin flew away and left.
The Grunt came up along side her on his Ponyta,"Wow! A Ponyta!" Kairi says, stars in her eyes. That was one of the Pokemon on her wish list. She'd always loved those Pokemon. She remembered when she was very small she used to always go to her uncle's Ranch and ride his Ponytas. There was one Ponyta there that she really loved. It was a shiny Ponyta called Spirit. She had loved that horse.
"What are you doing? Didn't you hear the Pokédex? Absol are mistaken for being doom bringers! They just try to warn humans of natural dissasters, and then humans can't understand them and when such dissasters happen, they blame the Absol! Don't be stupid like all those people!" The Grunt had shouted intruding her from her daydreams.
Kairi's mind snapped back to reality. All her Pokemon were now in PokeBalls. What would she do now? Suddenly Pikachu popped out of his PokeBall on his own,"Pika pika!" He demanded, telling the Grunt to leave Kairi alone. "Pikachu! What are you doing?! That's a Ponyta he's got there!" Kairi warned. "Pika!" Pikachu says pointing at it's legs.
It looked as if this Grunt hadn't taken very good care of his Ponyta. Kairi as a Breeder could tell this just by looking at it. It's coat wasn't as shiny as it should be. While Kairi was thinking this Pikachu stood in front of her glaring at the Grunt, warning sparks dancing on his cheeks.

ooc// No, that's too cliche. Just go with the flow. I planned to have this Grunt still going for the sake of your legendary encounter, to be honest. Besides, we don't want Airore to become -shudder- Disneyfied, do we?
ic// The grunt raised an eyebrow as he saw the girl get a dazed look as she watched his Ponyta. What a weirdo, letting the fact that she liked a species of Pokémon get in the way of her task. Ponyta was moving at a brisk walk alongside Kairi's run. She didn't look like the sort who'd done much exersize, she looked like she'd lived a pretty cushy life until she became a breeder. And where had Shaymin gone? He'd seen her trip, and stuff something into her backpack. Probably knocked out Shaymin and hidden her in there.
But would anyone knock out a friend? Well, any girl this... strange, and obsessed with everything cute. Why was she obsessed with cute things? Cute Pokémon tended to be the most wimpy, weak Pokémon of all. The worst moveset, and the lowest stats. What's more, he tended to find that their trainers tended to treat them like royalty, and so they became drama queens. Huh. Maybe this wouldn't be a challenge after all.
Oh, so Pikachu had emerged from his Pokémon. Big threat, as if. The grunt rolled his eyes, and urged his Ponyta on, curving around to face Kairi. He was in front of her now, and would dodge to either side to block her path if she tried to escape. He wanted to fight her.
The Grunt snarled. "Come on, coward. Why do you flee from battle, wimp? Oh, we can't have pweshus Pokémon getting hurt, can we? Well, grow up!" he yelled the last two words. "Welcome to the real world, spoilt brat. It's not all flowers and rainbows. Some of us have to work, you know. And I thought that people who had Pokémon tended to battle. Well, I suppose this is a forfit. I'll be taking Shaymin, then." he said, holding out his hands for her to put the legendary in. He didn't expect her to give her to him, but he would still get a battle and when he won would get Shaymin.

Pikachu got mad at what he said about Kairi. What! Kairi was no coward. She just wanted to protect her friends is all. Pikachu Thundershocked the man to show him he met business,"Uh, Shaymin flew away. She's not here anymore," Kairi lied,"But I won't let you chase after her. Pikachu use Thunder Wave to paralyze that Ponyta!" Kairi ordered. Pikachu screamed sending out Thunder Wave hoping to paraylze the Ponyta so it couldn't move.
(Short post, sorry.)

The grunt watched as Pikachu charged up electricity. He wasn't stupid. He knew perfectly well that the mouse was going to use a Thundershock. This wasn't a very strong attack, but he still didn't fancy getting hit by it when there was such an easy way to avoid it. "Jump." he said calmly and softly to his Ponyta, who obeyed. Electricity flows to the ground; if something other than a Flying type is not connected to said ground, the electricity will not harm them but will find another way to get in the ground. The Grunt shuddered as it passed through, but felt little pain.
He smiled, patting Ponyta for good work. He raised an eyebrow, able to tell that Kairi was lying. They'd been taught the skill of lie detecting while training for Team Chaos. He quickly returned Ponyta to her Pokéball to avoid the Thunder Wave. He didn't want to have to walk back to headquarters. Landing neatly after the fall caused by Ponyta disappearing under him, he smiled faintly. "Now now, little girl, we both know that's not true. Shaymin didn't fly away, did she? Well, kid, you'll fight me for her. If you refuse, I'll pin you down, knock you out cold if I have to, then take Shaymin by force. If you fight me, you have a slight chance of winning and keeping Shaymin. Or are you still a coward?" he sneered. He hoped she was still unwilling to battle, for then he'd get Shaymin. Lovely.

Kairi watched helplessly as the Ponyta avoided Pikachu's Thunder Wave by jumping up into the air. The Grunt had jumped up into the air as well. "Pikachu, jump up and use Thunder Wave!" Kairi ordered. Pikachu nodded and jumped up into the air and sent out Thunder Wave. But the Grunt called back his Ponyta into it's PokeBall. "Now now, little girl, we both know that's not true. Shaymin didn't fly away, did she?" The Grunt said. "Darn!" Kairi said realizing he wasn't buying it.
It looked as if she'd have to fight her way out this time. If she had too she'd fight him face to face, instead of there Pokemon fighting. She had, had some pratice in the martial arts that her grandpa had taught her last time she had visited him in Johto. Well, kid, you'll fight me for her. If you refuse, I'll pin you down, knock you out cold if I have to, then take Shaymin by force. If you fight me, you have a slight chance of winning and keeping Shaymin. Or are you still a coward?" He sneered at her.
"Look who's talking! Your the coward who recalled your Ponyta back into it's PokeBall. Ah! Looks like your afaird of my Pikachu. And you should be scared of me as well! Ha!" Kairi said running up to the Grunt. "Pika!" Pikachu called. Kairi threw a flying kick up into the air aiming at the Grunt's face.

The grunt raised an eyebrow, catching Kairi's foot before it reached his face. She thought he was cowardly? "Me? Scared of you or your Pikachu? I have no need to be. Pikachu is... well, overrated. And not the strongest of Pokémon. If you must know, I didn't think it would be smart to paralyze my getaway ride." he snarled, letting go of Kairi's foot with enough force to get her off balance. He smiled. He was stronger than most of the nerds on Team Chaos. In fact, he wasn't even a nerd.
The grunt sighed. "Look, kid, I don't want to have to kill you. We can settle this in a Pokémon battle. I'm fairly sure any trainer who's frightened of a Pokémon battle is a coward. Or very stupid. I thought Pokémon liked being levelled up through battle." he said. Perhaps Kairi wasn't a wimp, she was just really overprotective or something. Still, it was pretty silly for anyone with Pokémon to back out of a fight. She was a breeder, right? Well, breeders raised Pokémon. Battles were the best way to raise one. Pokémon enjoyed battling, anyway, so what did she have to worry about?
He took out the Pokéball containing his Absol. Upon being released, Absol smiled menacingly at Kairi. "Well, trainer? Are you gonna battle? Or is your precious Pikachu too special to get a little scratch on him?" he sneered. Absol spoke to Pikachu through the language of Pokémon. ~I bet you won't battle. No, you're too cowardly. You won't risk a bump, even if it would save Shaymin and your trainer's life.~
The grunt watched Kairi, then rolled his eyes. "I doubt you would let your Pokémon level in any way other than Rare Candy. Perhaps they ought to be given the thrill of battle, poor things. Well, you have no choice. Absol, use Scratch!" he called, and the wolf burst into action. He moved as a blur towards Pikachu, claws ready to slash.

The Grunt caught Kairi's foot,"Me? Scared of you or your Pikachu? I have no need to be. Pikachu is... well, overrated. And not the strongest of Pokémon. If you must know, I didn't think it would be smart to paralyze my getaway ride." He laughed. He then made Kairi loose her balance. She fell landing on top of Pikachu. That earned her a Thundershock,"Ahhhh! Pikachu!" She screamed as she got up.
"Pika," Pikachu said rubbing the side of his head as he appolyzised. Kairi then turned to him,"If you must know, Shaymin's not my favorite Pokemon. I love it very much, but Pikachu here is my favorite. And don't you go making fun of it! My Pikachu is different then other Pikachu! My Pikachu's special! It's strong. Even stronger then a Raichu I might add, which is it's evolved form," Kairi said getting smart mouthed about her Pikachu. "Pika!" Pikachu agreed, shaking his fist at the Grunt.
The Grunt then called Absol back out of it's PokeBall. This time Kairi would not run away from it. After all the Grunt would just chase her again, right? "Well, trainer? Are you gonna battle? Or is your precious Pikachu too special to get a little scratch on him?" he sneered. "I'll tell you what's cowardly. It's using Pokemon for evil. What's the matter, your so weak that you can't find your own Shaymin, that you have to steal from someone else? Ha!" Kairi says throwing the Grunt's own words back at him,"I bet you can't even afford to buy PokeBalls."
Kairi grinned after she finished her little speak. She knew she had hit him where it hurts. But she did kinda figure, people who went around stealing Pokemon from others were either cowards, or they were broke and couldn't afford to buy PokeBalls,"I bet none of your Pokemon are your friends either. I'll show you that friendship is what makes your Pokemon, strong, not power!"
The Absol then said something to Pikachu,~I bet you won't battle. No, you're too cowardly. You won't risk a bump, even if it would save Shaymin and your trainer's life.~ Pikachu got mad,<That is not true! I love Kairi. And I would do anything to protect her! I love her as if she were my own daughter!> Pikachu screamed at Absol.
"I doubt you would let your Pokémon level in any way other than Rare Candy. Perhaps they ought to be given the thrill of battle, poor things. Well, you have no choice. Absol, use Scratch!" The Grunt said. "That is not true! I train my Pokemon well. As a matter of fact, it has been a very long time since I used any Rare Candies! Now I'll show you just how brave my Pikachu is and why it's rarer then a normal Pikachu. Because it's raised by me!"
Kairi didn't get to finish talking. While she was auguring with the Grunt, Absol had somehow gotten around her and Scratched Pikachu. She heard Pikachu scream painfully. "Hey! That wasn't fair! I wasn't ready!" Kairi demanded,"Your a cheater you know that!"
Now Kairi was mad. If there was one thing she hated more then people using Pokemon for evil, it was people cheating to win Pokemon battles. Now she would show off her Pikachu's power and show this Grunt she meant business,"Pikachu! Thunder Wave again!" She called. Pikachu built up energy in his cheeks and let Thunder Wave fly towards Absol, hoping to prarlyze it, and Kairi hoping he wouldn't be a coward and call back his Pokemon again.

ooc// By the way, you can't decide that your Pikachu is a God among Pikachus or something, that's just silly. It's not fair if you decide that you want your Pokémon to be better than anything else.
ic// The grunt laughed. "So, you're proving my point. You do pick favourites. And as a matter of fact, I can find my own Pokémon. It's just far more convinient to steal one when it walks along, no? I can afford my own Pokéballs, too. And a house. Bet you can't buy a house, eh? And since when did the fact that you raised a Pokémon make it rare? Rare Pokémon are Pokémon you don't see much. Are you saying you go about killing Pikachu? Naughty, naughty. Sorry to burst your bubble, but your Pikachu isn't special, it's a normal Pikachu. Just because it loves you doesn't make it a legendary or anything, OK? Arceus, I hate obnoxious twits who cry at a scratch." he commented, mainly aiming this at Pikachu as he screamed.
He listened to Kairi's excuse, and laughed, finding it very hard to remain calm with all this anger boiling up inside him. How he wished he could punch her head off. He really hated drama queens like Kairi. She was acting as if it was the end of the world, as was her Pikachu. Honestly. Did you see his Absol crying and screaming? Nope. Absol was standing calmly and loyally before him. And that excuse- urgh! "You weren't ready, were you? Well, get a brain, would you! You've got to be prepared! You can't expect me to wait until you're ready to dodge, can you? No! Absol, jump and Scratch!" he called.
Absol too was hating Kairi. Jeez, she sure was making a big deal out of a simple fight. Her and that Pikachu must have cream cheese for brains and paper for skin the way they acted. He leapt, the powerful movement enabling him to sail neatly over the top of the Thunder Wave. His strong front paws were in front of him, ready to slash at the stupid little mouse again. He hoped for a good hit, and it looked like he'd get one too, with that accuracy and speed.

OOC: Ok, don't get mad at me but you had his Pokemon dodge three times in a row. You can't do that. Even though it's your site now, it's god modding if the foe doesn't take a single hit.
